Playing with mud makes you healthy?

2500 years ago, Sakyamuni Buddha revealed that the Universe is made up of many different elements.

Another scientist discovered that an African volcano on a grassland spewed volcanic ashes and smoke every two to three years, destroying the neighboring grass. Remnants of ashes would float and land on the grass nearby.

Newly grown grass is healthy since they have been fertilized by the abundance of minerals and elements found in volcanic ashes. When cows eat these newly grown grass the following year, they become strong and healthy.

We also find that animals like horses, cows, goats and donkeys like to roll in the mud to ruffle their body’s fur and give out two grunts when they feel exhausted. Through this action, the animals alleviate their tiredness, rest and recharge.

When they are rolling, their spines touch the ground and are being stretched, while the muscles and skin will relax. In the process, they are receiving an abundance of elements from the mud, stones and water, which replenishes their energy quickly.

Hence, human beings also need to come into contact with nature by rolling or playing games in the mud, regardless of whether we are an adult or a child. Or we can choose to walk barefooted on the sandy beaches or in sea water, so as to absorb energy. Through coming into contact with nature, we strengthen our immunity system and are less likely to fall sick.

Hence, do not be afraid to come into contact with mud. Even when your hands, body or clothes are covered with mud, it is not dirty. You are returning to nature to receive energy and this is an excellent way to gain good health.

【Saturday Online Group Practice】 – Inspirations from skiing

1. In skiing, as in life, only you can control the direction that you are going, nobody can do that on your behalf.

2. During the journey, you will experience setbacks, fear, failure and pain. Once you manage to overcome your inner obstacles, you will be able to soar and achieve miracles in life!

3. Continuous learning to improve our skills is the only way to go. Or else if we use the wrong approaches to the problems we encounter, more pain and failures will follow.

4. Nothing in this world is difficult for one who sets his mind on it. As long as we have the determination, we will be able to overcome all challenges.

5. To succeed, we must not give up halfway or concede defeat at the first obstacle we encounter. Hard work and persistence are critical to being successful in everything that we do.

I wish for all of you to be safe. May everything go well in your lives so that you can achieve your aspirations and create miracles!

The real master hidden among the ordinary folks ?

Weekend is finally coming after a week of hard work. Let me share a joke I found online to help you relax. As the saying goes: A laughter a day keeps the doctor at bay!

A professor and a farmer sat on seats facing each other on the train.

Feeling bored, the professor decided to play a game with the farmer: “Let’s take turns to ask each other questions. If you do not know the answer to my question, you’d pay me $5. If I do not know the answer to your question, I’d pay you $500. What do you think?”

The farmer agreed.

The professor asked: “How far is the moon from the earth?”

The farmer silently took out $5 and handed it to the professor.

It’s the farmer’s turn. “What animal has three legs when going up a hill, but four legs when coming down?”

The professor thought long and hard but could not come up with the answer. Grudgingly, he handed $500 to the farmer.

The farmer took the money and proceeded to take a nap.

The professor asked the farmer: “What is the answer? What animal is that?”

Without a word, the farmer took out $5, handed it to the professor and went to sleep. ???

【Energy Bagua Q&A】 Special Questions

Q7. Can a person who is not in good health and experiences hands and feet that are unusually hot, practice ‘Energy Bagua’?

I think it’s worth a try, as the rotational practice of alternating between clockwise and counterclockwise movements is a balanced approach. Thus, the replenished energy is not merely ‘yang’ or ‘hot’ energy, but a balanced and holistic blend of ‘qi’ or energy.

The feverish body condition that arises due to poor health can be alleviated through the practice of ‘Energy Bagua’, as the negative energy is transformed into positive energy, thereby improving the condition of hot hands and feet.
You are welcome to try this practice!

Q8. If we want to avoid the cold winter outside, can we put up an artificial tree in the house to practice ‘Energy Bagua’?

I have ever used a jug or a pole in place of the tree to practice ‘Energy Bagua’. It is not merely the tree, but the overall technique that is beneficial to us.
Therefore if conditions do not allow, we can occasionally replace the tree with artificial trees or other items to practice.

Some small trees can be cultivated indoors in our modern city living space, notwithstanding the chilly winter outside. So, one can purchase a potted tree to place in the house for use during practice. Just ensure that such trees do not have sharp thorns. A few fellow practitioners had asked me, “My family has a cactus plant that grows very big. As this is my family’s only plant, could I place it in the centre when practicing?”

I would suggest that we minimize close contact with the cactus, as we could get hurt by the thorns in the face, or even scratched our eyes.
In Energy Bagua practice, safety for all practitioners should come first. Our health and lives are foremost priorities.

Our health and lives are foremost priorities.

.

Interesting anecdote on Energy Bagua ???

A humorous story about Energy Bagua in Taiwan.

As the rising sun beams over the luxuriant trees in the early morning, a group of people were walking around a huge tree, focusing on their practice of Energy Bagua….

They walked with steady and easy steps with natural breathing. The chirping birds accompanied the group of diligent practitioners.

Suddenly, a fellow practitioner asked a question “Teacher, you keep reminding us to ‘drop the elbows in the morning (晨間墜肘)’ ( 晨間= morning sounds similar to 沉肩 = drop the elbows, in Mandarin) Every time, we practice Energy Bagua. I wonder why you keep reminding us the same thing even when we practice in the afternoon. Why don’t you say ‘Drop the elbows in the afternoon’? I’m so confused but I didn’t get a chance to ask about it.”

The practitioner looked at the teacher with a curious look….

The Energy Bagua teacher was about to answer but another practitioner also agree and said “I can’t figure out why, too.” The teacher was exasperated, thinking that all his effort in explaining Energy Bagua the past few days was futile.

That afternoon, the teacher decided to test the practitioners. He asked a difficult question “Do you know exactly which two Chinese characters are 墜肘 (drop the elbows)?”

A senior female practitioner said with a serious look “Drunk walking.” ( 醉走 = drunk walking sounds the same in Mandarin to 墜肘 = drop the elbows.) The teacher was dumbfounded!

Another senior teacher who also teaches Energy Bagua heard this teacher grimacing; smiled and said “As a teacher, you should be more flexible. Other than teaching “drop your elbows ‘in the morning’” you can also teach – ‘drop your elbows ‘in the afternoon’ (sounds similar to hold your elbows in mandarin) and drop your elbows ‘in the evening’ (sounds similar to underarms).” The teacher was also amused at the end.

So….what is ‘drop the elbows’ (墜肘)? What’s the purpose of this posture?

Please tell us which type of ‘drop the elbows or drunk walking’ (墜肘) did you practice this morning?
