.
.
A step away, have you cross it?

Between sickness and health;
Between pain and happiness;
Between inferiority and self-confidence
….

Is only a step away…
They have overcome it! In life, everyone can do it as long as you are willing to try!
.
.
From the video:
In the vast ocean, tides rise and fall, just like life. At times, we enjoy success and sometimes setbacks and failures. We may never be able to walk out from some failures and setbacks.

Fear

Is fear holding you back from trying new things?
“Previously, I lacked self-confidence. Whenever people looked at me, I would quiver with fear.”

Suffering caused by physical pain and sickness

Do you fear causing inconvenience to your family members because of your physical illness and pain?
Are at your wit’s end when you witness the suffering of your family members?

Everyone who face difficulties crave for transformation.

Haoru Chen, 18 years old

Due to lack of self-confidence, she would shiver with anxiety whenever she exchanged glances with people.
She overcame her own psychological obstacle and bravely walks up the stage.

Huangsi Li (wife), 55 years old

She suffered from severe water retention after undergoing an operation. She also had breathing difficulties and was overweight. For more than 10 years, she tried different medical treatments but nothing could cure her.
After attending an elementary retreat, she recovered from sickness and pain. She no longer suffers from water retention and lost 11 Kg. Her breathing has also became smoother.

Yamei Liao, 80 years old

Due to deterioration of her knee joint, she could not walk. For the past two years, she had been relying heavily on wheel chairs.

On the second day of her retreat, she left her wheel chair and walked with the help of others.

Fu Jincheng Fu, 73 years old

He suffered from Parkinson’s disease and had difficulty coordinating his limbs. Friends referred to him as a vintage car since he was slow in moving around. His family member prayed for blessings every day hoping that dharma brother Jincheng could regain his health and mobility.

Subsequently, he was able to walk faster, just like a car with new engine.

Grandmaster JinBodhi:

During my advanced stage of self-cultivation, I discovered my own health and happiness couldn’t bring me happiness. My aspiration is for everyone to gain health and happiness.

Hence I made a vow to dedicate my entire life to helping others by imparting my meditation techniques, dharma teachings and wisdom to everyone who has an affinity with me. I hope that all can enjoy good health, prosperity and happiness.

So long as you are willing to take the first step,
Bodhi meditation will bring you health and happiness.

From the video:
I am Baoli Lin, dharma name Ninghui. I live in Kepong, Malaysia.
In the past, I had difficulties in lifting my legs and it was challenging to remove or wear my trousers whenever I shower.

One day, a friend visited me and was shocked to see me in this state. She encouraged me to step out of the house and brought me to the park for a walk. At the park, many groups of people were exercising. I continued walking around the lakes in the park for a few days. One particular group was practicing Energy Bagua. I was curious as they were walking in straight lines with slow and synchronized steps. At that moment, I thought to myself that this form of walking exercise may suit me. I decided to follow their footsteps and thus started the exercise. This continued for some time but the pain on my legs remained. I asked an Uncle about my pain and he advised that it was alright for me to continue walking. He encouraged me to persevere and I did it without any hesitation. Later on, he said I could join the group to practice Energy Bagua.

I practice Energy Bagua with the group everyday without fail and was as diligent as I could be. One day, to my surprise, I realized I could lift my legs without struggling. I was delighted. I had always been worried about driving in my condition. I persevered in Energy Bagua practice; whenever we were told to lift our legs as part of the exercise routine, I would lift my legs as high as I could and was teased many times for the pride that I could lift my legs so high!

Indeed, I deserved to be proud of it and would tell everyone around me about my success story.
Since then, I have been practising Energy Bagua for 2 years now. My health has improved tremendously and now I took up a role and position in the Energy Bagua team of trainers.
I am thankful and grateful to Grandmaster JinBodhi and Bodhi Meditation.

A health catastrophe that is slowly creeping into our lives

WHO (The World Health Organization) published the followings on March 4, 2015:
Adults and children should reduce their daily free sugar intake to less than 10% of their total energy intake. A further reduction to below 5% or roughly 25 grams (6 teaspoons) will bring even more health benefits.

According to statistical reports, diabetes cause more than 1.5 million deaths every year. High blood sugar level is known to increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, which cause another 2.2 million deaths per year. This means that the total number of deaths in a year that is related to high blood sugar level is 3.7 million. Among these, 43% of the deaths occur before the age of 70.

In the year 2014, 39% of the adult population worldwide (above 18 years of age) are obese. From 1980 to 2014, the worldwide prevalence of obesity doubled, with the rate for men at 11% and the rate for women at 15%. More than 500 million adults were classified in the obese category.

The hidden secret of milk

One fellow practitioner asked me, “As people become wealthier, they would also want to eat better food. Milk should be one of the most nutritious and better quality food, is this correct?”

Allow me to clarify with regards to this question – cow’s milk is for calves, human’s milk is for human babies. If adult human consume lots of cow’s milk, it may cause health problems over time.

Let us take a look at the results of scientific research done by international specialists…

The latest discovery done by China and American research specialists:

The China–Cornell–Oxford Project was a large observational study led by T. Colin Campbell, professor of nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University, who summarized the results in his book, The China Study. Other lead researchers were Chen Junshi, Deputy Director of Institute of Nutrition and Food Hygiene at the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine in Beijing, Richard Peto of the University of Oxford, and Li Junyao of the China Cancer Institute. The study was conducted over 20 years in rural China on 6,500 people, jointly funded by Cornell University, The University of Oxford, and the government of China. It has received the highest prestige prize in scientific improvement from China’s Ministry of Health. The New York Times has also termed the study “The Grand Prix of epidemiology”.

They have discovered the most astonishing secret on what the human population view as most nutritious and quality food – cow’s milk, eggs, are the most harmful to health. Yet those who depend on plant based nutrition are the healthiest and suffer less chronic diseases.

People thought that milk is liquid

In fact for most adult human, milk is the least digestible food regardless of whether it is human’s milk or cow’s milk. Yet for babies before teething their stomach is the best organ to digest and absorb milk, isn’t it strange? As human babies start teething, their ability to digest milk is lost as it is part of physiological evolution as we age.

To put it simply, the protein in cow’s milk is meant specifically for calves and has nothing to do with human. It will cause allergic reactions like stuffy nose, diarrhea, rashes etc as the human immune system reacts to the unfriendly protein.

Thus, what do you consider as a healthy meal?

It is best to avoid cow’s milk as it is meant for calves and not human.

Lesser Full Grain (8th of the 24 solar terms)

When the sun reaches the celestial or ecliptic longitude of 60 °, it is the solar term of Lesser Full Grain. This year, it falls on May 21. Lesser Full Grain is the eighth of the twenty-four solar terms, and the second solar term in summer. From here, the average daily temperature will gradually rise and the average rainfall will increase significantly, ushering into a period of rainy seasons in southern China. During the period of Lesser Full Grain, the elements of wind and fire combine, which often result in frustration and unease in temperament. Much attention should be given to mood management through increased outdoor activities such as jogging, trekking as well as practicing the Energy Bagua.

During the Lesser Full Grain period, most people consume cold drinks to wade off the heat when the ambient temperature increases. Consumption of cold drinks may cause stomach, intestinal and abdominal discomfort. It may also result in incomplete development of the digestive system for growing children, and deterioration of organ functions for senior folks. Hence, it is recommended to avoid too much of cold and raw food and beverages.

After the Lesser Full Grain period, the days would get hotter and we tend to perspire more. Coupled with the rainy season, the weather becomes humid and hot. During such a period, it is advisable to consume more fresh greens such as green beans (and green bean soup), winter melon (and winter melon soup), luffa loofah and cucumber. At the same time, it is advisable to avoid fried and spicy food.
