74歲的超眾,因為親侄的介紹,而認識了菩提禪修。這個機緣,為她的晚年帶來了一點愉快的色彩。
「行路時,地板總是軟軟的。」起初聽到超眾的描述,一時之間還搞不清楚她的問題。凡事應該腳踏實地,這已是老生常談,但超眾卻辦不到,因為她的感官異於常人,雙腳踏在地上時總是軟軟的,毫無結實的感覺。「醫生說是我感官神經退化了,而非骨的問題。」由於這樣的問題,超眾的親侄向她介紹了八卦內功,希望藉著八卦改善她的步伐。
自從2017年4月起,超眾每天勤練八卦,天天都走。儘管感官神經的問題已是不可逆轉,超眾的步伐卻一天比一天穩定,外表看來與常人根本沒有分別。
「看到腳趾甲健康地長出來,我真的很開心。」原來除了步伐的問題,超眾一直受甲癬困擾,趾甲都變形了,但經走了八卦幾個月後,她喜出望外地發現,甲癬已經遠離她了。此外,如老人斑、飛蚊症等問題,竟也隨著修行消失了,對超眾而言已是一份令人驚喜的禮物。
在訪問之中,超眾處處流露出感恩和知足:「兒孫子女都長大了,孫也二十多歲了,我可以做一些自己喜歡的事。」超眾那熱情的笑容,彷彿在訴說著,禪堂已是她的第二個家,只要每日能夠來到禪堂,已經是她最開心的事。
通過禪修,74歲的超眾獲得如同年輕人一般的精力,她現在也成為了義工,每天也為禪堂服務。「現在很早便睡了,大概晚上七時多便睡了,到早上四時半,電話響了,我便要起床,乘坐五時半的頭班車,大約六時多來到禪堂。」日日如是,堅持修行,不斷付出。

竹取公主和一群小兔子的故事:

月亮上,除了嫦娥、吳剛,還住著一群身負重任的小兔子們!
.
月亮,廣寒宮中庭,桂花樹旁。
「起來阿!起來阿!明天是什麼日子你們不知道嗎?」戴著冠帽的兔子正恨鐵不成鋼的催促著他的隊員們。
圍著桂樹東倒西歪的小兔子們,聽到隊長這樣說都不禁有點心虛。

隊長說:「一個禮拜後,就是長居在凡間的『竹取公主』,一年一度,回天上的日子,屆時,你們都必須化成仙童仙女去接竹取公主,和天上的家人團聚……」
.
照理來說,兔子們現在應該都忙著練習抬轎,連吳剛都不好意思來桂花樹旁打擾他們。但是,現在有個小小的問題……
.
鼓著嘴巴的兔子一號:「今年柚子太好吃了!」
肥了一圈的兔子二號:「今年嫦娥姊姊訂太多月餅了。」
把臉摀起的兔子三號:「……酒不是我喝完的。」
兔子隊員們一個個最近因為貪吃、變胖、代謝變差,體力也變差了!幾乎是做完一次訓練就全累倒在樹旁,隊長生氣,根本合情合理。

「一年也就忙這一次啊!今年甚至連搗藥的工作都給了吳剛,你們真是太不爭氣了!」隊長心急如焚的叨唸著。
.
頭低得不能再低,小兔子們真心覺得對不起自己的工作。
「都是我們的錯……我……我們願意繼續練習!」雖然還是氣喘吁吁,但兔子們紛紛懺悔,表現出願意勤奮練習的可憐模樣。
.
「你們這些都是要氣誰啊!」隊長看到大夥兒真心認錯,也無法再罵下去了。現在想想補救辦法比較重要:「我手上有一套功法_《八卦內功》,剛好可以給你們對著桂樹練習,借助樹滿滿的能量,搶救你們的體力和健康。」
.
「是,隊長!」小兔子們異口同聲地回答。
於是,小兔子們每回練習前都會先走完1小時的《八卦內功》,再開始抬轎訓練!
.
中秋節當日。
竹取公主疑惑道:「從天上傳來你們無法負荷訓練的消息時,我還以為要自己去借人馬來帶我回天宮,結果我看你們好像只是胖了點,抬轎時臉不紅氣不喘的,怎麼回事呀?」
.
眾兔子傻笑。從知道「八卦內功」後,兔子們每天都會先練一個小時八卦,再接著日常訓練,體力竟然比變胖前還好,甚至體重都慢慢下降了,這也算是因禍得福吧?

兔子隊長裝傻:「誤會、誤會,沒有這回事,我們只是精壯一些,不是胖!」

The story of Princess Zhu-Qu and the rabbits:

On the moon, besides the legendary Chang-Er and Wu-Gang, there lived a herd of rabbits entrusted with significant tasks!

At the courtyard of the Guang-Han Palace on the moon, which is near the famous osmanthus tree, the chief rabbit with the dress hat was heard hastening his team-mates in disappointment, ” Wake up! wake up! Don’t you know what day it is tomorrow? ” The rabbits, who were sleeping in a haphazard manner around the osmanthus tree, felt guilty on hearing their leader’s reminder.

The chief rabbit continued, “On the day exactly a week from now, Princess Zhu-Qu, who has been leaving in the mundane world, will return to heaven. This takes place once a year. On this day, you have to transform yourselves into fairies to welcome and receive the princess who will be reunited with her family in the heaven… ”

All the rabbits should now be very busy practicing carrying the sedan chair. Even Wu-Gang deliberately stayed away from the osmanthus tree in order not to disturb these rabbits. However, there appeared to be a hiccup this time…

With a mouthful of food, Rabbit One exclaimed, “The pomelo this year is really delicious!” Rabbit Two, who had put on some weight, said, “This year, Sister Chang-Er had ordered too many mooncakes.” Rabbit Three, who covered his face, declared, “.. I was not the one who emptied the bottle of wine.”

All the rabbits had indulged in food, put on weight and suffered from indigestion and become physically weak! So, after just one round of training, all the rabbits were exhausted and laid around the osmanthus tree. The leader was furious.

“Come on, we only do this once a year! This time we even assigned the task of preparing medicine to Brother Wu-Gang. You guys are disappointing! ” The chief rabbit grumbled aloud in great anxiety.

Lowering their heads as much as they could, the rabbits genuinely felt apologetic for their poor work performance. “It is all our fault.. we are willing to continue the training!” So even though all of them were still breathing heavily, the rabbits repented pathetically and expressed willingness to carry on with the training diligently.

“Who are you trying to upset! ” the chief rabbit stopped his scolding with the sincere repentance of the rabbits. The priority for him then was to find a solution. He said, “It just happens that I have an Energy Bagua practice manual, and it is convenient for you to practice around the osmanthus tree and leverage the abundant energy of the tree. I hope you can quickly re-build your energy and health. ”

“Yes, sir!” The rabbits replied simultaneously. Henceforth, the rabbits would complete an hour long Energy Bagua practice before their training on sedan chair carrying!

On the Mid- Autumn day, Princess Zhu-Qu was somewhat puzzled, “I received messages from the heaven that all of you could not withstand the tough training so I thought I might have to arrange my own transportation to return to heaven. But it seems that you guys have merely put on some weight. You don’t seem to feel tired or out of breath while carrying the sedan chair. What happened? ”

The rabbits giggled. Ever since they learnt the Energy Bagua, the rabbits would always practice Energy Bagua for an hour before their regular daily training on carrying the sedan chair. They became stronger and even started to lose weight gradually. Was this hiccup actually a blessing in disguise?

The chief rabbit acted as if nothing had happened, said, “it was a misunderstanding and what you heard was not true. We are just getting more muscular and stronger, not fatter! ”

問:「師父,我小時候家裡比較窮,吃飯常有一頓沒一頓的;後來長大從事業務工作,作息時間不固定,也沒法定時吃飯。年輕還不覺得怎樣,如今年紀大了,身體的反撲就來了,現在我過了飯點沒吃飯就胃痛、喝杯咖啡也胃痛,有事沒事我的胃就造反,吃胃藥也只能稍微緩解,已經嚴重影響到我的退休生活了!師父,請問有沒有辦法徹底解決掉這個問題?」

我說:「其實你自己也知道,你的胃病是因為自己作息不正常造成的,要改善這個問題,最根本的解決之道,還是要從你的生活作息著手。要是你不調整自己的生活習慣,即使我拿仙丹給你吃,你的胃病復發也只是遲早的問題。」
.
問:「師父,我現在已經有努力調整作息啦!可還老犯胃病呀!」
我說:「這樣吧,我再教你幾個辦法。首先,你每天早上起床,啥都別做,先慢慢喝一杯溫開水,再開始其他活動;然後就是三餐最好正常吃,而且營養要均衡,少吃那些不好消化的,炸的、辣的最好都別吃,咖啡也少喝點;另外,吃完飯之後別坐在那裡看電視,但也別做激烈運動,站起來走一走,15分鐘到半小時就好了;最後,保持規律的運動習慣,如果不知道該做什麼運動,可以到禪堂,或者你家附近的八卦點,每天早上來走八卦,如果這些都做到了,我相信你的胃病肯定會慢慢改善的。」

這個同修聽了我的話之後,回去就照著我的話做,改善了自己作息與飲食習慣,早上也都會特別早起一個小時,到離他家最近的八卦點學習走八卦。就這樣,這位同修努力堅持了半年多,後來我再遇到他,再問起他的胃病,果然已經改善了很多,甚至好一陣子都沒再犯病了。

The Most Effective Methodology

Question: “Master, when I was young, my family was poor and I had to go hungry from time to time; When I was older and started working, my hours were very irregular and I often had my meals at odd hours. Now that I am getting old, my body has started to protest, and I now suffer from gastric pain whenever I miss my meals. Sometimes my gastric would act up simply after a cup of coffee or even for no reason at all and medication only helps to alleviate the symptoms slightly. Master, this has severely affected my retirement life! Is there anything I can do to improve the situation?”

I replied: “You are well aware that your gastric woes are a result of your irregular mealtimes. If you want the situation to improve, you have to adjust your habits and your way of life. If you don’t make any permanent changes to your life, nothing will help you.”

Question: “But Master, I have already been diligently adjusting my habits, but my gastric still acts up frequently!”

I replied: “Let me teach you a methodology. First thing in the morning, drink a glass of warm water. Have your meals at regular hours and ensure that you have a balanced diet. Cut down on spicy or fried food which are difficult to digest and reduce your intake of coffee. In addition, refrain from sitting down immediately after meals, but do not exercise vigorously either. Walk or stroll for 15 to 30 minutes after your meals. Last but not least, form the habit to exercise regularly. If you are not sure what exercise to take up, visit the nearest Bodhi Meditation Center or the nearest Energy Bagua Point near your place and join the other practitioners in practicing Energy Bagua. Once you have done all these, you should see improvements in your gastric problem.”

Desperate to get better, he followed my advice – having his meals at regular hours and waking up an hour early every day to practice Energy Bagua nearest to his house. About half a year later, I ran into him again and asked about his gastric problem. True enough, his situation has improved tremendously and his gastric has not acted up in a long time.

有個快要結婚的女同修來找我說她的煩惱:「師父,我打算跟男友結婚了,可是不管我怎麼努力,又是挨餓、又是戒糖,什麼方法都想過了,可體重就是沒減輕,要是再瘦不下來,我不敢去拍婚紗照了!」

我看了看她,稍微圓潤了些,但也不是很胖,就問她:「妳男朋友這麼在意妳的身材呀?如果一個男人要妳挨餓來成就他的面子,他肯定不是真的愛妳,這男人妳就得衡量一下了。」
.
「不是的師父,他說我是胖是瘦,他一點也不在意。」她說
.
「他都不在意了,妳還煩惱什麼呀?」我說
.
「可是師父,我自己想要當個漂亮的新娘呀!」她相當憂愁的樣子
.
我告訴她:「挨餓、吃減肥藥都不健康,妳要想瘦下來,我教妳幾個方法!
第一,早上起床和三餐飯前都先喝一杯溫水,冷的也行,但不要喝冰的。
第二,每天早上5點準時到八卦點走八卦。
第三,少吃肉,多吃當季的蔬菜水果。只要這幾個方法都做到了,妳肯定可以瘦下來了。」

她為了當個最美的新娘,回去就扎扎實實照著做。不到半年之後我再看到她,那時候剛好是她結婚前一個星期,我發現她瘦了一圈,至少輕了10公斤,體態變美了;而且氣色變得紅潤,連痘子都不長了,很顯然,她真的成功讓自己變成最美麗的新娘了。

所以,想要減肥成功,靠的絕對不是挨餓和吃藥。
我要傳達給大家的是『健康』的理念,就算是要瘦身,我也希望大家能以對身體負擔最小、最不傷身的方式健康地瘦下來。

Once, a female Bodhi student who was getting married approached me on her problems. She said, “Master, I am getting married soon. Despite putting much effort including eating less, enduring hunger, staying away from sugar and various other means, I am unable to lose weight. I am reluctant to take my wedding photos if I am unable to slim down.”

I took a close look at her. She was a bit rounded but not too plump. I asked her, “Is your boyfriend very concerned about your body figure? If a man wants you to stay hungry in order to satisfy his ego, he may not truly love you. Should this be the case, you may want to reassess your marriage plans.”

“Master, he is not like that. He told me he is not at all concerned about my figure.” said the young lady.

“If he is not concerned, so what is troubling you? ” I asked.

“Master, I wish to be a pretty bride on my wedding day!” she said, looking miserable.

I told her, “enduring hunger and taking slimming pills are not healthy ways. I would share with you a few methods if you wish to slim down!
First, when you wake up in the morning and before every meal, drink a glass of warm water. Cool water is alright too but not chilled water.
Second, practice the Energy Bagua diligently at the designated point at 5am punctually every morning. Third, consume less meat but more vegetables and fruits of the current season.
If you can adhere to these three methods, you will surely slim down.”

4月20日進入穀雨節氣,這是春天的最後一個節氣,寒潮天氣基本告終,氣溫快速回升,很少再忽冷忽熱,空氣濕潤,雨量充沛,非常有利於農作物生長。因此古人有「雨生百穀」的說法。

「沾衣欲濕杏花雨、吹面不寒楊柳風」,在溫暖的天氣外出賞花,心情格外大好。可是有的人最怕過敏,春天也正是皮膚容易過敏的季節。《紅樓夢》有一回也提到:春天的時候,大觀園裡的美女們都長了「杏斑癬」,要擦「薔薇硝」。這當然是小說故事,但其實皮膚過敏是跟身體免疫力差有關,古代的太太、小姐們肢體活動量少,體質差可想而知,可惜當時沒人教她們走八卦;想要提升能量,在春天時,不妨找上三五好友一同晨起走八卦,強身健體,鍛鍊體能。
