宋朝大學士蘇東坡,學富五車,才高八斗,更是一位虔誠的佛教徒。他和隔江的金山寺佛印宗師相處得很好,經常談經論道。
.
有一天,東坡突然靈光一閃,隨手寫了一首詩偈:「稽首天中天,毫光照大千;八風吹不動,穩坐紫金蓮。」他再三吟詠,感到非常的滿意,於是派書僮將此偈送去給佛印宗師。
.
蘇東坡非常期待宗師的「佳音」,不久書僮回來了,東坡急忙將信打開一看,只見宗師歪歪斜斜地寫了「放屁」兩個大字。「豈有此理」蘇東坡瞪大眼睛拍桌:「我找佛印理論去」馬上坐著渡船找佛印理論去了。

船才靠岸,就看見佛印宗師已站在江邊含笑相迎。宗師哈哈大笑:「我的大學士,你不是說自己『八風吹不動』嗎?怎麼一個屁就把你打過江來了呢」?蘇東坡到此才恍然大悟,只好低頭不語,唯有羞愧而已!

咱們修行若想外不著相、內不動心,練就「八風吹不動」的禪定功夫,請給自己一點時間,聽聽我所講述的禪修的重要性,以及堅持禪修能為人生帶來什麼樣的益處!

(備註:所謂八風,就是我們日常生活中經常所遭遇到的八種境界的風,它們的名稱是:稱、譏、毀、譽、利、衰、苦、樂。)

The Six Perfections – Meditation

During the Song Dynasty, there was a talented and knowledgeable statesman called Su Dongpo. He was a devout Buddhist and was good friends with Master Fo Yin who lived in the Jinshan Temple across the river. They got together very often to engage in philosophical discussions.

One day, Su Dongpo had an inspiration and wrote a poem:
“As I pay my deepest respect to the great Buddha,
His bright illumination lights up innumerable worlds in the universe;
I am seated firmly on the golden purple lotus,
And nothing can move me, including the eight winds.”

He was very proud of it and wanted to share his creation with his good friend. So he wrote down the poem and dispatched his errand boy to deliver it to Master Fo Yin.

When the boy returned, he took the letter eagerly, expecting to see praises for his brilliance. To his dismay, there was only one big word on the letter: “Bullshit!” He was outraged. Immediately he set off on his boat to dispute with the Master.

As the boat approached, Su Dongpo saw Master Fo Yin standing at the shore smiling at him. “My great statesman! Didn’t you say that you are unmoved even by the eight winds? Why is it that with a single word, I managed to move you across the river?” At that moment, Su Dongpo realized his folly and felt ashamed by his arrogance.

Those of us who are aspiring to master the skill of serenity and be able to remain unperturbed by external factors (what is called “unmovable by the eight winds”), please take some time to listen to what I have to say about the importance and benefits of meditation.

(Note: “Eight winds” refers to eight worldly conditions that we go through in our daily lives: praise, blame, fame, disgrace, gain, loss, suffering and happiness.)

「紅豆水」知多少?

這幾年,許多愛美的女孩子流行喝紅豆水來消除水腫和瘦身。在中醫學上,紅豆有清熱解毒、利尿、幫助排便、促進血液循環、改善下肢水腫等多種功效,加上價格親民、容易取得,而且紅豆水的製作方式更是簡單,難怪會成為不少女孩兒心目中的美容聖品。

雖然紅豆水可以促進身體健康,又能養顏美容,但卻不是所有人的體質都適合服用的。這裡特別要提醒,紅豆的鉀離子含量較高,即使對一般健康的人而言沒有什麼影響,然而對腸胃功能較弱、腎臟不好、心臟病、高血壓的人們而言,則要參考醫師給的飲食建議,而且要特別注意用量,才不會對身體造成傷害,並達到保健的效果。

前兩天的直播_八卦共修中,有幾個同修分享了他們因為健康問題,通過走八卦之後的獲益和轉變,這些問題相信應該也困擾著不少人,所以就分享給大家,一起認識這些問題。

學員1:「過去我曾因為摔倒,造成了腰椎間盤突出,即使痊癒了之後,還是時常拐到腿。」
學員2:「我已經失眠很多年了,如果不吃安眠藥,就怎麼也睡不著;但又怕吃了藥之後,會影響到白天的正常生活。」

其實,這兩個人的症狀雖然不同,但從根本上來說,都是因為「氣」不足所導致。所謂的「氣」就是指人身體當中的能量,而「氣不足」就像是一個供給油電的能量站,當儲量不足,就無法供給身體所需,又怎麼健康得起來呢?
.
能量供不到大腦,便會使我們的情緒低落;能量供不到心臟,心臟彈性供血的血泵就沒辦法發揮作用,我們的大腦就會越來越不好使,看到什麼都無法有美好的感知。除了降低了對外在事物的感知能力,對健康的影響更是不可忽視。要解決這些問題,最根本的方法就是讓「氣」充足。

我推薦大家可以修練「八卦內功」,每天抽一點時間走走八卦,對身體健康是很有幫助的。在走八卦的過程當中,大部分的人都能感覺到,手腳會漸漸變得溫熱──這不是發燒,這種溫暖和發燒不同,而是一種「暖和」的感覺。這是因為你體內的能量足了,那些由「氣不足」所引發的問題,自然也會慢慢好轉。

所以,為了你的健康,別總是犯懶,要堅持練習「八卦內功」,因為「健康」才是我們的終極目標!祝福所有的人,都能夠健康、吉祥!

「蕁」求解決之道

夏天到了,有時身上會冒出一大堆的紅色疹子,而且還又麻又癢,問了醫生才知道,原來是蕁麻疹在作怪!
.
蕁麻疹發生的原因有很多,雖然有不少患者無法確認起疹子的原因,但一般認為是受到外界的刺激,如食物、藥物、氣候、環境、蚊蟲叮咬等多重因素所引發。
.
那想要預防或是防止蕁麻疹再度發作,除了看醫生、吃藥之外,在飲食上也有一些要注意的地方。雖說每個人誘發蕁麻疹的原因不同,但大致上來說,最好是避開那些高風險的「過敏原」,像是:蝦、蟹等帶有甲殼的海鮮,還有花生、杏仁這類的堅果,味道辛辣的食品以及菸、酒都得減少攝取。除此之外,平時也要盡量少穿緊身、不透氣的衣物;沐浴的時候也不要用過熱的水,以免血管過度擴張,讓病情更嚴重;作息上也要盡量規律,並維持運動或是禪修的習慣,讓抵抗力更好,身體也會變得更健康!

Solution for Hives (Urticaria)

During summer, we may find rashes on our skin, itching and at times numb. Upon medical diagnosis, these are classified as hives, also known as urticaria.

There are many causes of hives. Whilst many patients may not trace its origins, most believe that hives is caused by external stimulation like food, medicine, weather, environment, insects bites and others.

To prevent hives from inflicting us, other than consulting with medical doctors and taking the necessary medicine, we can pay attention to our food consumption. Although every hives patient encounter different causes of infliction, it is best to avoid highly sensitive food sources such as shrimp, crab and seafood with shell (crustacean). Peanuts and nuts such as almonds, spicy, smoked food and liquor should also be avoided. In addition, try not to wear tight and non-breathable clothing. Minimize showering with water which is too hot to prevent worsening the conditions through the expansion of blood vessels. Keep a healthy work-rest routine, exercise or meditate regularly. This will help improve your body immunity and eventually your health.

放暑假了,在外地讀書的侄女來我家玩,小住幾天。剛剛從北方來到濕熱的南方,她明顯水土不服,身上起了很多小紅疹,又癢又刺,還腸胃不適,不想吃飯。
.
看到侄女生病,我這個當姑姑的感覺很不安。
晚上,我在佛台前供上兩杯清水,然後開始真誠的誦念六字大明咒,善解人意的侄女坐在屋角靜靜地看書,陪著我。我念了大約兩個小時,把兩杯清水請下來,一杯讓她慢慢喝下,另一杯,用手帕蘸水擦拭她長紅疹的部位,之後就讓她睡下了。

隔天一覺醒來,我和侄女驚喜地發現,身上的紅疹全不見了!癢刺的感覺也消失了,腸胃不適也沒有了,早晨吃了一大碗粥。看著她又恢復了朝氣蓬勃的樣子,我感到特別欣慰和歡喜。
.
六字大明咒的力量真的不可思議。雖然誦念的咒語很簡單,但是效果非常靈驗。相信只要我們誠心修持,靈活運用,就能收穫更多不可思議的好處,讓我們生活得更幸福、更健康、更快樂。

Let me share with you a real story for your reference!

A simple method with tremendous effect!

During summer, my niece who was studying abroad visited my house and stayed for a few days. Traveling from the north to the hot and humid south, she was unaccustomed to the climate of her new environment and developed many small rashes and felt itchiness and a tingling sensation on her body. She also developed gastrointestinal discomfort and lost her appetite.

As her aunt, I felt very uneasy and worried when I saw my niece in discomfort. In the evening, I offered two cups of clear water at the Buddha altar in my house and started to chant sincerely to the Six-Syllable Mantra while my niece sat quietly at the corner of the room, reading a book, keeping me company. After chanting for about two hours, I took down the two cups of water. I passed one cup to her and asked her to drink it slowly while I used the water in the other cup to rub the areas where she had rashes using a handkerchief, and after that, I asked her to go to bed.

When I woke up the next day, I was surprised to find that the rashes on her body had disappeared! The itchiness that had bothered her the previous day was also gone and she regained her appetite, and ate a large bowl of porridge that morning. I was very happy and pleased to see her regain her health and return to her energetic self.

The power of the Six-Syllable Mantra is truly incredible. Although the chanting process might seem simple, it is very effective and produces tremendous effects. As long as we practice with sincerity and flexibility, we will be able to reap more incredible benefits and make our lives happier, healthier and more blissful.

一是靜養心。天氣炎熱,人容易焦躁,要有意識地控制情緒,戒怒戒躁,遇到煩事學會冷處理,或者轉移目標、轉移環境。還可以借助禪修來平靜內心,中午天氣正熱的時候,在屋中靜靜地坐禪,平衡穩定自己的心情,心靜自然涼。

二是苦養心。盛夏人體代謝旺盛,容易生「熱毒」,心煩、口渴、尿赤、大便乾結,可以適當吃些清熱解毒的苦味蔬菜來緩解。而且「苦入心」,苦味食物能清心火,因此有「夏日吃苦勝似進補」的說法。苦瓜、苦菊、萵筍等苦味蔬菜,含生物鹼、苦味素、胺基酸,能消暑、清熱、解煩,利於夏季養心。

俗話說:「柔能克剛!」
我說呢:「柔軟能得健康!」

其實,我們很多的疾病和煩惱,是來自於同樣的根源—煩惱,這是精神裡的煩惱。而內心的僵硬,會使我們身體和心靈都漸漸僵化起來。

但是「慈悲」能讓這種困擾,迅速地、一刹那間就消失,解除了。
很多弟子,曾經有許多的煩惱,當他修行一段時間之後,問題雖然還沒有去解決,煩惱就已經沒有了,這是為什麼呢?

因為「慈悲」與「柔軟」能幫助我們的身體暢通無阻。

Learn to adopt a “gentle and flexible” approach to life can give us better health!

As the saying goes, “Gentleness can subdue sheer strength!”I say, “Being gentle and flexible can give us better health!”
.
In fact, many of our diseases and troubles originate from the same source, both being psychological in nature. Further, adopting a unyielding attitude will gradually compromise our body and mindset, causing us to become rigid in our approach.

Yet, “compassion” is able to dispel such distress quickly, making it disappear or be removed in an instant.Many of my disciples, who once had a lot of worries, find that such worries go away after practicing for a period of time, although the real cause of their worries had not been resolved, why is that so?
.
This is because having “compassion” and being “gentle and flexible” can aid in our bodily functions, making it smooth and unobstructed. When gentleness and flexibility develop alongside compassion, our bodies become flexible, and our joints, stiff fingers and complexion will become soft.

When the body and mind are gentle and flexible, our body functions are smooth-flowing and we gain health.. .
