A dreadful factor that contributes to ill health is negative emotion. Eighty percent of our illnesses are attributed to such bad emotions. It can manifest in the form of negative energy and transform into something tangible that blocks our meridians, causing us to become ill.

Where are such negative emotions from and how do we deal with them? How do we free ourselves to achieve health and happiness?

Someone asked me: “The weather in summer is very hot and although I have just engaged in some physical work, why is my body not perspiring at all? Is this normal?”

A: “This is because the meridians of the body are blocked. When the toxins in the body or the wastes are not discharged for a period of time, it will ultimately affect one’s physical and mental health and eventually become a deadly incurable disease.”

我有脂肪肝20年了,吃了藥卻始終沒有起色,醫生告訴我說沒有辦法了。
.
去年(2016年)1月份一個因緣,我認識了菩提禪修,並且參加了健身班和念佛班等課程。今年(2017年)2月再去醫院檢查時,醫生竟然告訴我,我的脂肪肝恢復了正常!
.
還有一件奇蹟,去年11月,我在商場門口給一塊掉下來的鐵板砸到頭部,當時頭部有震動的感覺,頸椎也感到被壓了一下。第二天我的頭部開始非常疼痛,醫生說需要觀察3個月,看有沒有記憶力的問題,或感覺異常等才需要拍片。

從事件發生之後,我總感覺整個頭皮麻麻的,頭部後面的頭皮好像沒有粘住頭骨的感覺,感覺頭皮整個空空的,並且頭腦經常空白。頸椎也感覺越來越痛、越來越緊,像似有東西拉扯住了,這個感覺慢慢蔓延到肩膀、胸椎等地方,甚至連抬頭時肩頸以上都使不上力、伴著疼痛,無論躺著坐著都不是,真的很痛苦。

在我修練大光明功法時,我感覺頭部開始發燙,滿舒服的。
剛好前些日子,我的兒媳婦也在禪堂請了一串珠子送給我,愛美的我就把它每天戴在手上,脖子上,沒想到戴上後的第二天,我感覺整條脊椎都通暢了,不再痛了,現在都很輕鬆。

在持續修練2個月的大光明後,先前的病徵,現在幾乎全好了,不再有頭皮與頭骨分家的感覺,頭部也不再出現麻,也不再空白了。
真不敢相信,我走到了65歲的年紀,還能夠越活越健康,越來越快樂,這一切都是因為我的生命遇見了菩提禪修,遇見了師父。

I suffered from fatty liver for 20 years, medication did not help the situation and there was no improvement during the yearly medical check-ups. My doctor said he has no solution.
.
I started meditation in January 2016 and participated in the 8.5 days Health and Happiness Retreat and the chanting class at Bodhi Meditation Centre. In February 2017 this year, I went back to the hospital for a check-up again and my doctor actually told me that my liver had recovered and is normal now!
.
I also experienced another miracle. Last November, my head was hit by a metal plate at a shopping mall entrance. At that time, I felt vibration in my head and some pressure on the spine at the neck for a while. The next day, I had a very bad headache. The doctor said we had to wait for 3 months to see if my memory is affected or felt weird before deciding to have an x-ray taken. After this, my scalp started tingling and the back of the head felt like it did not stick to the skull. I felt my scalp was empty and my brain was blank frequently. My spine also felt more and more painful, more and more tight, as if something was pulling it. This feeling slowly extended to the shoulder, to the chest. I felt painful and had no strength to raise my head. When I lie down, I could not even raise my head.
.
When I practiced the Meditation of Greater Illumination, my head felt hot and it was comfortable. At that time my daughter-in-law obtained a bunch of beads from the meditation center and gave it to me. I like to beautify myself and would wear the bunch of beads on my hands and neck. Unexpectedly, on the second day of wearing the beads, my spine felt unobstructed, without pain, I felt very relaxed.
.
After 2 months of practice, I don’t feel empty or have any tingling feelings anymore; my brain also does not go blank. It’s unbelievable that at 65 years old, I am still able to lead a healthier and happier life. All thanks to me meeting Bodhi Meditation and meeting Grandmaster JinBodhi.
.
I wish to share my gratitude and touching story with all of you. May you persevere on with life like me, not giving up but growing in confidence. To help ourselves and others in life.

你也想轉運、改命嗎?

曾經,有個中年男子,他生了嚴重的皮膚病_牛皮癬,牛皮癬長在他背上像籃球那麼大,他每天撓啊撓,都撓出血水了,尤其是越到晚上越發奇癢難受,撓了後就落下很多很多像魚鱗一樣一片片的皮屑,不論看過中醫或西醫都沒用,每天痛苦得不得了。
.
後來,有個老中醫告訴他:「您這個病要做功德才行啊」。
因為這個機緣,他跟著一個鄰居來到我們禪堂要求幹活,幫忙建禪堂,裝潢、刷漆等。
.
他每天不間斷的幫忙做苦力,過了一個多月,他兩邊的臉頰都曬黑了,牛皮癬基本上也好了五成以上。之後他更報名參加菩提的八天健身班,十期之後,那個牛皮癬就完全好了。

大家想想,是什麼原因讓他的病好的?
也許是真誠感動佛菩薩,也許是因為大量的運動量,快速了身體代謝排毒的功能?也許是禪堂的健康素食,改變了他不健康的飲食方式,也許是行善的功德,消除了他累世的因果業力?

無論答案是什麼,大家要的結果都是健康和快樂。

Once, there was a middle-aged man with a severe skin disorder, Psoriasis. The plagues on his back merged and grew to the size of a basketball. These lesions were so itchy and painful that he scratched daily till they bleed and develop pus. When the itch became unbearable at night, he would scratch and cause shedding of scales in sheets. He sought medical treatment from Western doctors and Chinese physicians but to no avail and he continued to suffer daily.

Later, an old Chinese physician told him, “You need to do more good deeds to cure this disease.” He adhered to his advice and followed a neighbor to our meditation hall to help in the renovation and painting.

He worked hard every day. After a month, his cheeks became tanned but his skin condition improved by more than 50 percent. He subsequently attended the 8-day Health and Fitness class. After the tenth session, his pretty much recovered.

Let’s ponder the reasons behind his recovery. Perhaps it was his sincerity that moved Buddha and bodhisattvas. Perhaps it was the strenuous physical activities that expedited his metabolism and detoxification? Perhaps it was the center’s vegetarian diet that changed his unhealthy diet, or his accumulation of merits that eliminated his karmic debts?

Whatever the answer is, everyone hopes for health and happiness.

為何我們的生活總是不如意?(2017年9月23日共修)

經常的,我們有意無意間為了個人的利益,給他人帶來了傷害而不自知?

好比說我們買東西,塑膠袋順手就扔掉;還有咱們吃的盒飯,這些幾乎都是塑膠、化學製造成的,我們隨手一扔,風一起,這些白色的盒子、塑料袋隨風飄揚,不腐不化地飄到地球每個角落,很多甚至飄到大海裡,嚴重的汙染海洋生態,多少魚蝦因為這些塑料而喪命。
.
因此,無論我們今天發了善心、善行,如果沒有和我們累世犯下的錯誤進行平衡對比的話,沒有把它抹平,它是不會平等的,當你的基因裡面,過錯多於善行,你的生命要如何順心如意呢!
.
所以,我們若想改變自己,還有下一代子孫、孩子們的命運要怎樣做呢?我想就是減少,甚至不去做傷害他人的行為吧!除了減少傷害的行為外,還有沒有更快速有效的解決方法呢?
.

Do we often cause harm to others intentionally or unintentionally for our own interest without realizing it?
For instance, we conveniently throw away the plastic bags when we buy something; we also discard the plastic foam boxes when we finish our takeaway meals. These items are mainly plastic in nature and chemically produced. When we casually dispose them, these foam boxes and plastic bags flutter in the wind to every corner of the earth including the oceans, causing serious marine ecosystem pollution. How many fishes and prawns have been killed because of these plastic?
.
Perhaps, we do not like pollution, but we are constantly producing pollution. When pollution gathers, it may become the source of respiratory system ailments as well as other kidney, heart or asthma related diseases.
.
In order to change our lives and the lives of our next generation, how do we not go about harming others?

【週六共修預告】如何改善人際關係(2017年8月19日)

生氣、痛苦、煩惱等負面情緒,對人身心的傷害有多大?
.
我曾經見過兩位女士在吵架,年齡大概都是五十多歲左右,其中一個女士吵架嘴特別快、特別狠。兩個人吵著利害,另一位女士當場氣到直挺挺地昏倒了!還住院了七八天。有時候對高手來說,光憑一張嘴就能當場把對方給氣死。所以,經過這個案例,我發現很多疾病是因為精神上的痛苦和壓力而導致的。
.
修習禪修之後,會讓我們的生命能量不斷增加,心理承受力會大大增強;同時,在禪修的過程中,因為心中常保持一份慈悲善念,就不容易產生情緒不穩而罵人,如此,減少了傷害他人、傷害自己的機會,對我們的身心靈健康將會有最直接的幫助。

每個人都活在這個群居的社會上,免不了需要和他人打交道。
改善人際關係、經營好自己的人生,成為咱們此生必修的功課!!

Anger, agony, troubling thoughts and negative emotions- How do these affect our physical health and mind?

I once came across two women in their mid-fifties quarreling. One of them was very fast and harsh in her response and words. In the midst of their heated arguments, one of them suddenly fainted and was hospitalized for 7 days!

There are cases where a person can literally die from anger because of another person’s words. Hence, through this case, I realized a lot of physical illnesses come about because of mental stress and unhappiness.

Through meditation practice, our life energy and tolerance level will increase. Since meditators tend to harbor kind and compassionate thoughts, they will not lose control of their emotions easily and start to scold others. This reduces the probability of inflicting hurt onto themselves or others, which in turn helps to maintain a healthy body and mind.

We are all part of one big social network. Everyone has to interact and deal with people in their daily lives.

Improving interpersonal relationships and better life management are vital skills which we all need to acquire!!

There is hope for me — Rid of Sleep Apnea (Death Trigger In Sleep).

Sleep Apnea is an illness that may cause one to stop breathing whilst asleep. It can also lead to high blood pressure and potential heart attacks. Presently, there is no medical cure for Sleep Apnea and when serious, it is necessary for patients to use breathing apparatus during sleep.

Despite this, a student resolved his sleep apnea, a life threatening illness, in less than 108 days. He also cleansed his body of toxins. All these happened without medication. So, what magical method did he use?

Bodhi Meditation gave me a second chance at life.
My name is Zhiyuan Su and my Dharma name is Dongbing.
I suffered from several illnesses and have Sleep Apnea.
In my routine medical checks, the average times I stopped breathing per hour was 28.8 times.
According to my doctor, if the frequency reaches 30 times per hour, it is considered serious.
Presently, there is no medical cure for Sleep Apnea.
Based on my conditions, my doctor advised me to put on breathing apparatus when I sleep. I also suffer from heartburn (or acid reflux) and have breathing problems.

When I came to Bodhi Meditation, I practice Energy Bagua.
My blood pressure, cholesterol level and kidney function index used to be borderline high, indicating poor condition of internal organ functions.

After 2 weeks of Energy Bagua practice, my blood pressure dropped from 148 to 110.
I was diligent with my daily checks and scheduled my annual health checks in November.
Before I completed the 108 days of Energy Bagua practice, I went for a check-up and noticed that, apart from a lower blood pressure, my cholesterol level also reduced from 6.2mmol/L to 5.8 mmol/L. Kidney function indicators improved from my usual high of 112umol/L to 108 umol/L, which is below the normal standard level of 109umol/L.
I was exhilarated and full of confidence! I’m saved!
My Energy Bagua teacher used to tell us that Energy Bagua practice can rid our body of accumulated toxins and increase our body immunity to give us a fresh start to good health.
During the process of healing, my whole body was covered with spots like German Measles from head to toe, growing in size to that of Leopard spots and it worries me.
I also noticed snow flake-like stuff like dandruff, appeared all over my head.
Despite washing my hair regularly, it was hard to get rid of them.
Eventually, when the skin started to peel, I realized that I was undergoing a detoxification process.
Now, I feel good and confident. After a month of detoxification, my body feels good and I am free from Sleep Apnea.
All these benefits are results of my Bodhi Meditation practices.
It can benefit the public. Hopefully, more will come to Bodhi Meditation and thereafter, share their testimonials to those who are still not aware of Bodhi Meditation.
I’ve attained good health, many thanks to Bodhi Meditation.

每個人的內心都期望著健康安詳、快樂自在,沒有煩惱、沒有壓力。但是我們怎樣才能從煩惱的污泥之中脫身而出,達到清淨無染、安詳自在呢?

其實人的一生,活得幸福不幸福,不在於錢多少,是在於我們的這個氣順不順乎。好多事物本身就是虛實變化之中,讓人感覺到快樂的也許是毒品,讓人享受當下,但這幸福的感覺可能正是地獄,此時的快樂就是壞事。很多時候正在遭受考驗,覺得痛苦不堪,但通過考驗,就能嘗到甜蜜的果實,當下的痛苦也僅是過程。我們的心如果不能看透這一切,幾乎所有的事情都不能解脫、都會引發煩惱。

看破才能放下。只有看透了這個世間事物的真相,才能夠把原來特別執著的東西放下,無論是不好的、還是看起來美好的東西都要去放下。

放下,就讓自己的氣順了;放下,才不為壓力、煩惱所困,才能擁有一種輕安的狀態與解脫的心靈。

禪修,正是讓我們得到最終的解脫和自在。

【To “see through” illusion is wisdom, to “let go” is liberation】

We all longed to be healthy, serene, happy and free; with no worries and stress. But how do we break free from the mire of worries to attain peace, tranquility, purity and ease?

Whether we live our life blissfully or not is not dependent on the amount of money we have but whether we go with the flow. Many situations are in a flux, changing between truth and delusion, what brings you happiness may be poisonous. It may allow you to enjoy the present moment but this feeling of bliss may be hell. In this case, happiness becomes a bad thing. Often, when we struggle through a trying situation, we feel excruciating pain. But once we pass the test, we can taste the sweet fruit of success. The pain is only momentary, part of the journey towards success, If we do not see through this truth, we will not be liberated from all situations and that is how worries arise.

See the truth and be liberated. We can only let go of things that we are especially obsessed with by seeing clearly the truth of this world. We have to let go of all things, the bad ones and the ones that look good and wonderful.

By letting go, we follow the flow of things and we are not trapped by our stress or worries. Only then can we attain a tranquil repose and a liberated soul.

Meditation allows us to achieve the ultimate liberation and being at ease.

《New release》 Understanding how Meditation leads to good health (July 1, 2017)

Is it easy to stay healthy?
Some would say: “One’s mood and emotion is dependent on the general well-being of one’s health.”
Others feel: “The hereditary genetics from our ancestors play a vital role in determining the state of our health!”

There are many reasons why people fall sick.
The key to a healthy physical and mental body is to strike a proper “balance”.

If we were to compare our body to a car, the analogy is similar. New cars are less prone to problems. Cars which have been in use for a long time tend to break down easily and require constant maintenance. At times, we need to replace their faulty spare parts in order to keep them functioning.

How about our bodies which have been working non-stop for the last 40 years from the day we were born. Have we maintained ourselves properly? Some of us only visit the doctor when we are extremely sick only to discover our internal organs have suffered irreparable damages.

How then do we maintain a state of “balance” in our mind and body?

I welcome everyone to join me this coming Saturday in my discussion on the key to maintaining good health. You may gain some tips and inspiration to a better health. May all be blessed with longevity, good health and happiness!!
