義犬救人

60歲的王友瓊平常信佛，2008年中國汶川地震前去四川省成都市彭州市銀廠溝的九峰山送子殿還願小住。地震時，王友瓊從坍塌的廟裡沒跑幾步，就被泥石流沖走，然後被山上震落下來的石頭砸中，卡在巨石中無法動彈，只能不斷頌唸觀世音菩薩。

在危急時刻，廟裡主持養的兩隻小狗“前進”和“乖乖”找到了王友瓊，一隻小狗一直在舔王友瓊乾裂的嘴唇，另一隻則舔去她臉上的血跡。在老人被困的8天8夜（195小時）內，這兩隻小狗一直守在旁邊，不時舔舔老人的手和臉，給老人補充水分，看到有人經過的時候就拼命叫。

8天后，狗的叫聲引起了救援人員的注意，王友瓊被成功救出，經過醫護人員精心照顧，在3個月後基本恢復。

60 years old Youqiong Wang is a devout Buddhist. Before the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in China, she went to the Jiufeng mountain Songzi temple in Yin Chang Gou, Pengzhou, Sichuan Province for a short stay. During the earthquake, Youqiong Wang only managed to run a few steps away from the collapsed temple, and was washed away by mudslides. She was then smashed by the rocks that fell from the mountains. She couldn’t move in the boulder and could only chant Guanyin Bodhisattva.

At this critical moment, the abbot’s two dogs, “Forward” and “Obedient” managed to locate Youqiong Wang. One dog continuously licked her lips while the other licked her face’s blood streaks. During the 8 days and 8 nights (195 hours) that elderly Youqiong Wang remain trapped, these two dogs guarded at her side. Occasionally, they would lick the elderly lady’s face and hands to replenish moisture and would bark ferociously when there are passersby.

8 days later, the barking of the dogs finally gained the attention of the rescue team. As a result, Youqiong Wang was successfully saved. Under the care and attention of the medical team, she recovered after 3 months.
