禪學與後真相

這個詞，據說曾被牛津字典選為年度詞彙，意思是：「訴諸情感與個人理念，比陳述客觀事實更能影響人心。」他和我聊起這個話題，我也很樂意學習。想想這名詞的產生並沒有一定的好或壞，而是一種時代產物，不同觀點所以產生不同的認知。只是這個詞還真的讓我想到很多！尤其如何理解事實與真相呢？

其實，學禪的目的就是要超越表象，看到事物的規律。因為「真相」有時是取決於你觀看事物的「高度」和「格局」，就像老鷹飛在天上看到的景色，絕對和在地上爬行的老虎不一樣， 有了開闊的視野，自然就不會被表象迷惑，智慧因此產生。
智慧的產生，除了用看(觀)的視覺延伸，更重要是要有「心靈的視覺」，透過禪修讓心境變寬闊。因為，不論你看了外在多少世界，內在探索多少自我，其實都只是為了「離苦得樂」！當你看透事物的規律之後，就不再為這些規律中的表相而煩惱。

因此活在現代的人們，要認清真相，首先就必須超越感官的認識，來看到事物的真實規律。「禪修」是一種古老的修行方法，不但能清淨我們的大腦意識，也能清淨我們的身體，提升我們的智慧和靈性！

Post-truth of Zen
This word, post-truth, which is said to have been selected as the word of the year by the Oxford Dictionary, means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” I was asked about this topic, and was happy to give it some thought. Think of it, this term does not embody a definite positive or negative connotation, and is really the result of the times. Thus, differences in points of views would produce different extents of understanding. The word has actually stimulated a great deal of contemplation in me!
Especially, how one would discern between the facts and the truth?
In fact, the purpose of cultivating Zen is to transcend appearances and see (through) the laws of nature. Because finding “truth” sometimes requires one to perceive at an appropriate “level” and “context”. Just like the eagle that soars in the sky. The aerial view will definitely be different from that of the tiger that roams on ground. So, with an expansive viewpoint, one will not be misled by mere appearances, and wisdom and capability are thus developed. With wisdom, capability, and heightened perception, it is crucial to have “spiritual insights” to broaden one’s mind horizons through meditation. This is because no matter how much one looks out to the external world, and intensively explores inner sentiments, the underlying aim is to end suffering and pain, and rediscover happiness! When one can see through the laws of nature, he/ she will no longer be obstructed by the (mere) appearances manifested by these laws.
Therefore, modern man should advance beyond the perception of the (limited) senses to understand the truth, and to see the real law of nature.
Meditation is an established and time-tested cultivation practice method. It not only can purify our cognitive consciousness; it also can purify our body, and enhance our wisdom, capability and spirituality!
