通過走八卦,失眠和青光眼消失

現代人工作壓力大,常有失眠的困擾,嚴重干擾睡眠品質,甚至影響日常作息,再加上經常使用手機與電腦,青光眼也成為了現代人的文明病之一。他走了兩個月的「八卦」就讓失眠的問題消失,再持續堅持天天走「八卦」,眼睛的問題也逐漸改善,他是怎麼恢復健康的呢?一起來看看他的故事吧。

來自馬來西亞- 陳銘康的禪修故事

我從2005年開始失眠,每個星期至少有2次要到淩晨4-5點鐘才能入眠,其餘的時間都是淩晨2-3點鐘醒來後就無法入眠了,因怕藥物的副作用,所以我一直沒有服用安眠藥。失眠嚴重影響了我的工作和生活,因為白天沒有精神。
2015年3月,我的眼睛一到晚上看東西就會非常模糊,而且情況越來越嚴重。同年6月份醫生確診我患有青光眼,眼壓達到28mmHg,醫生即刻幫我做了雷射治療,但也只能降到20mmHg(注:眼壓正常值是10-21 mmHg,但醫生說我這種狀況要降到15mmHg以下才算恢復正常)。醫生給我配了眼藥水,同時告訴我眼藥水不一定能控制住眼壓的上升,嚴重的話一定要動手術,但動手術有50%的風險,如果不做手術就可能瞎掉。

2016年7月,我晨練時看到很多人繞樹走「八卦」,懷著好奇心我也就跟著大家一起走,每天堅持走1個小時。2個月後,我的失眠消失了,每晚10點多鐘一躺下就能入睡,一直睡到早上6點鐘才起床。這讓我白天工作時精力充沛,信心十足。同年11月,我到醫院複查,眼壓竟然降到了17mmHg;今年(2017年)年初,眼壓降到了16mmHg;4月29日再次複查,眼壓竟然降到了13mmHg,我的眼壓恢復了正常!同時眼睛看東西也變得清晰了,連醫生也為我感到高興。

除了身體上的收益,我的性格也改變了。幾十年來,我一直是一個很內向的人,不喜歡跟人溝通,每天都活在自己的世界裡,「八卦」點的人都叫我Mr.酷(酷先生)。 2017年3月我走進菩提禪修健身班,我開始變得開朗,喜歡接觸人了,對他人沒有排斥感了,而且我會把好的東西分享給大家,這在之前是從來沒有過的。

因為通過聆聽金菩提宗師的開示,我明白了什麼是慈悲。慈悲對我來講,是每天都要去保持的。

Energy Bagua practice has taken away my Insomnia and Glaucoma
These days, working people are immensely stressed, often leading to insomnia, with poor quality sleep that adversely affect daily routine.
With the regular use of mobile phones and computers, glaucoma has also become one of the common diseases of modernization.
This student practiced Energy Bagua for two months, and the insomnia problem disappeared. Persevering with daily practice of the Energy Bagua, his eye problem gradually improved. How did he restore his health? Let’s review his story.

I began having insomnia in 2005. Every week, there would be at least 2 nights that I could only fall asleep at 4 – 5 o’clock in the morning. For those other nights, I would rise at 2 or 3 o’clock in the wee hours of the morning and not be able to sleep again. As I was concerned about the side effects of medication, I did not take sleeping pills. Insomnia has seriously affected my work and life because of the lack of vitality during the day.
In March 2015, my eyesight was blur at night and it gradually deteriorated. In June that year, the doctor diagnosed me with glaucoma, with intraocular pressure (IOP) as high as 28mmHg. He performed an urgent laser treatment on me, but only eased the pressure to 20mmHg (Note: Normal IOP ranges 10 – 21 mmHg; for me, the doctor advised a reduction to 15mmHg to be considered normal). The doctor further prescribed eye drops and told me that it may not necessarily decrease the pressure, and if the condition worsens, I would need an eye operation. Despite the risk of failure at 50%, I could go blind if I chose to forego the operation.
In July 2016, during my morning exercises, I noticed several people walking encircling the trees as they practiced Energy Bagua. Out of curiosity, I joined them, persevering in the daily hour-long practice. Within 2 months, my insomnia disappeared, and at 10pm every evening, I could ease into sleep till 6am in the morning. This provides me with great vitality and confidence at work during daytime. That November, the IOP had unexpectedly dropped to 17mmHg during my medical review; early this year (2017), the IOP had dropped to 16mmHg; and by April 29th, to 13mmHg – my IOP has been restored to normal! At the same time, my eyesight is much clearer. Even the doctor is happy for me.
Besides the physical health benefits, my character has also improved. For decades, I had been an introvert; not keen to interact and essentially living in my own space. I was known as “Mr. Cool” by my Energy Bagua team. In March 2017, since I participated in Bodhi Meditation retreat, I’d become more cheerful, and prefer to mingle with people. I no longer fear rejection, and will share the good stuff with people – something I’d never experienced or done before.
As I continue to participate intently in Grandmaster JinBodhi’s Dharma talks, I understand more on the nature of compassion. Compassion for me, must be practiced at all times.
