過年時，人們都會相互拜年、說一些吉祥祝福的話。
這些吉祥祝福話僅僅只是相互的問候嗎？

其實祝福語也是咒語。咒和祝，本來是來自於同一個字，那就是「祝」，為了區別在禪修之中所念的咒語，增加了一個字，叫「咒」。
.
當別人讚美你的時候，譬如：「你真有福氣，你應該富貴、你應該長壽、你應該健康、你應該更智慧…等」像這類吉祥語，在心中升起的這個意念，實際上就是祝福的「祝」。那這個祝福會不會起作用呢？這就好像咒語，它一定會有作用的。

如果有一個人在心中這樣祝福你，其實你就已經得到這個福分了；如果有十個人經常這樣想你，那你就更有福氣了，你就可能遇難呈祥，達到了咒語發揮的吉祥作用。所以，特別是在過大節日的時候，像是：過年節、八月十五、或佛陀聖誕等等這些大日子，咒語的力量尤其靈驗，一定要多多祝福他人。

祝福語就像是一把打開「吉祥之門的金鑰匙」。所以，在過大節日時，要心懷善念、多說好話，或許就會給我們新的一年帶來好運。

The golden key to open the door of auspiciousness!!

During Chinese New Year, It is common for people to greet each other with auspicious blessings. Are these words of blessings just simple greetings?
.
In fact, it is also a mantra. “Mantra” and “blessing” has the same Chinese word origin, which means ‘bless’. In order to differentiate chanting used in meditation, the word ‘mantra’ was added.
.
When others praise you with auspicious blessings, such as: “You are really blessed, you ought to have prosperity, you ought to have longevity, you ought to be wiser…”, you should elevate such thoughts in your heart. Will such blessings be effective? Will such blessings work? It’s like a mantra, it will work.
.
If one person blesses you from his heart, you already have this blessing. If ten persons often think of you in such a way, you are even more blessed. It may even turn something bad into good, thus achieving the auspicious effect of the mantra. So, especially during festive period and important days such as the New Year, 15th day of the eight Lunar month, or Buddha’s birthday, such mantras are very powerful and effective. Be sure to bless others on these special occasions.

Words of blessings are like golden keys to the door of auspiciousness. So on special festive days, we ought to be mindful and speak only the good. May be this will bring us good luck in the coming year.
