The Buddha listens to a sincere heart

Chanting, repenting and practicing gratitude can help you accumulate benign energy and resolve all negativity and darkness. If you can’t continue on your own, chant to the compassionate Buddha with a sincere heart. The Buddha will direct an luminous path for everyone.

A true story shared by our fellow practitioner from Malaysia.
————————————————————————-
This story is shared by Ningju from Malaysia.

I had migraine for over 30 years. It hurt once a week and lasted for 3 to 4 days each time. Seven years ago, I fell and hurt my spine, so it was hard for me to sit, squat and do household chores.

In 2016, I began to learn Energy Bagua and these problems have been reduced. My migraine happened less often and my spine problem was improved. Now I can even do household chores.

In 2018, I registered in the Chanting class. I felt the retreat was trying and wanted to give up. However, what Master said came to me: “Chant sincerely, compress the causality from our previous lives and eradicate the negative karma rapidly.” Therefore, the next day, I persisted in going to the retreat.

The topic of the second day in the Chanting class was to chant for the parents.

During the chanting session, memories emerged in my mind from the moment I was born to my childhood, teenage days and adulthood. I regretted for many wrong behaviors that I did to my parents when young. These memories made me guilty. I felt guilty that I only supported my parents’ basic needs but failed to care and treat them with a genuine heart.

My tears kept flowing when I chant. Sweat drenched my clothes. After the chanting session, I felt a sudden easing of my head and the pain in my waist was gone.

This Chanting class awakened me so much. I thought it was time to ditch the troubles, attachments and worries for my family.

During this Chanting class, I learnt that gratitude cultivates a compassionate heart.

After the retreat, I set a new goal for myself – to do my best to help others. I appreciate that Master gave me a chance to lead a new life. Now I can see my future is getting better.

【Fulfillment of Aspiration】

Our aspiration determine how far we will go in life!

When we give generously to build dharma cultivation centers and consecrate Buddha statues, we will be blessed with good health, wisdom, sharp sensory perception, auspiciousness and longevity! When we build dharma cultivation centers, we are shaping our own future. Our future will become broad and auspicious.

As the saying goes: 【One thought has the power to bless us with 3 thousands!】
According to Buddha: “Pureland exists because of our great vows and compassionate thoughts!”
One compassionate thought can create 3,000 galaxies;
And this boundless universe can fulfill our wishes and transform the world!

.
.
Learn to adopt a “gentle and flexible” approach to life can give us better health!
.
As the saying goes, “Gentleness can subdue sheer strength!”I say, “Being gentle and flexible can give us better health!”
.
In fact, many of our diseases and troubles originate from the same source, both being psychological in nature. Further, adopting a unyielding attitude will gradually compromise our body and mindset, causing us to become rigid in our approach.
.
Yet, “compassion” is able to dispel such distress quickly, making it disappear or be removed in an instant. Many of my disciples, who once had a lot of worries, find that such worries go away after practicing for a period of time, although the real cause of their worries had not been resolved, why is that so?
.
This is because having “compassion” and being “gentle and flexible” can aid in our bodily functions, making it smooth and unobstructed. When gentleness and flexibility develop alongside compassion, our bodies become flexible, and our joints, stiff fingers and complexion will become soft.
.
When the body and mind are gentle and flexible, our body functions are smooth-flowing and we gain health.. .

【Congratulations to Taiwan – Taichung Bodhi Meditation Center for their official opening】
We welcome you to visit our warm home at Taichung.

A beautiful lotus flower blooms in an elegant and quiet city center of Taichung. We are happy to announce that our long-time dream of having our own Bodhi Meditation Center at Taichung has finally materialized.
Within the quiet, elegant and dignified center lies a resting area that emanates a literary and artistic atmosphere. You can gather here to share life experiences, benefits and testimonials after your practices and events.

As we are all aware, life is not a bed of roses. There are times when we want to accomplish a task but yet we lack the strength and wisdom to complete it. We can pray to Buddha and Bodhisattvas to seek for blessings so that we are bestowed with more wisdom. When we face obstacles in life and fail to overcome them, we can turn to Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva for help. Through connection with Buddha and Bodhisattvas, we may gain higher wisdom. All we need to do is to pray with a sincere heart and offer an incense stick.

From my experience, Buddha loves all sentient beings. In fact, Buddha is the embodiment of great compassion. Now that we have our center in Taichung, with Buddha and Bodhisattvas’ statues here protecting and showering all with blessings.

Apart from being a dharma cultivation hall, this is also a home for all Buddhist disciples. May the brilliant light of Buddha shine on all sentient beings to liberate them from sufferings, illnesses, and bless them with wisdom to lead a prosperous and auspicious life!

We welcome you to come home often when you are free!!

Does everyone have the Buddha nature?
.
When Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, the first phrase he said was:
“It is such a wonder! All sentient beings have the wisdom, capacity, merit and form of the Buddha, yet due to delusions and obsessions, they cannot attain the fruits (of realization).”
.
Shakyamuni Buddha had discovered thousands of years ago that everyone has the Buddha nature; all have the capacity to become Buddha. It’s just that people are inundated by too much temptation and desire in their daily lives, and have forgotten this nature.
.
So what is the Buddha nature? How does that help us?
In our ordinary lives, how do we re-discover our Buddha nature?
.
Please allow yourself a few minutes to watch this video!
I believe that you will be inspired!!
Lastly, I wish everyone auspiciousness, wisdom, health and happiness!

Like is a form of encouragement; sharing is the best form of support.

.
.
Who has a pair of magical hands?
.
A few days ago, I was chatting with some English-speaking fellow practitioners in Vancouver, when a tall and strong-looking Caucasian man suddenly stood in front and bowed his head to me: “Master! Please give me your blessings, and remove all my troubles and stress!”
.
I asked: “What happened to you? What is making you so troubled?”
.
He replied: “My job is making me angry and gloomy!”
.
I told him: “That is simple – just quit your job. Then you will never have to be troubled or angry over things that happen at work.” (I was joking with him.)
.
He said: “I get to help a lot of people in my job as I respond to crises – saving people’s lives and putting out fires. But the hours are long, the work is tiring, and sometimes I get misunderstood or even reprimanded by others. I cannot flare up at those people so I can only keep all the anger inside me. Over time, more and more anger and unhappiness accumulates in me. This is the reason that I come here to learn to meditate – I hope to be able to release these negative emotions and to achieve peace and tranquility.
.
But what I found was that I can be very peaceful and serene during meditation, but the moment I return to my workplace, the pressure at work, the reprimands of the clients and the lack of understanding from others all result in the troubles coming back with a vengeance. Master, can you give me your blessings and remove all the anger and troubles from my mind?”
.
He looked at me hopefully, probably hoping that I have a pair of magical hands that can help him exterminate his troubles immediately and permanently.
.
Seeing how unhappy he was, I told him: “Meditation can help remove our troubles and purify our mind, but you have to practice regularly. My blessing can only clear your mind and let you forget your troubles temporarily.
.
What is important is for us to fully understand that our work is also a form of practice. One of the biggest discussion topic in meditation practice is how do we keep a serene and compassionate heart, and remain always willing to help others, even in the face of immense pressure at work. The answer to that will also be the solution to your troubles.”
.
His eyes widened upon hearing that: “Work is also a form of practice?”
.
I nodded and continued: “Let me share an interesting story that I read on the internet. Perhaps that can help you understand! Emergency services 911 once received a call from an 8-year-old little girl. In the call, she said that she did not like going to school, and she hoped that they would help her tear down the school. She wanted them to remove her teachers at the same time. The person who answered the call did not know whether to laugh or to cry, but he did not get angry over the little girl’s unreasonable request. Instead, he consoled the little girl and explained patiently to her that the teachers have her best intentions at heart, and she should work hard in school.
.
The nature of his work is very similar to yours. Both of you are trying to help others to solve their problems. This is a job that you should be happy and proud of! But if you are always brooding over the unhappiness that crops up at work or the things that did not go well, and come to regard helping others as a burden and source of pressure, you will lose the sense of happiness that can be gained from helping others.
.
As your work requires you to save people and to respond to crises, it is very important for you to learn to manage your emotions well. For instance, if you find your own child playing with fire, you need to stop that immediately as it is very dangerous. Hence, you should react with urgency when the situation warrants it, but never let that sense of urgency give rise to stress and irritation in your heart. The analogy to that is the ocean – on the surface, the water is rough and the waves are strong, but in the depths of the ocean (like your mind), the water is calm, such that the fishes that reside in the deep ocean are not affected by the waves at the surface at all.”
.
After hearing what I said, he let out a loud exclamation: “Oh! I understand now!”
.
I hope that all of you can face your job with unlimited love and compassion. Only then can you truly experience the joy of helping others.
.
.

Selfishness brings sickness and disaster, compassion brings health and auspiciousness?

A person had such an experience: her mother-in-law was sick and needed someone to look after. As both were living in two different cities, her husband, the son, hoped that she would go over to care for his mother. When the sickly mother called for help, the daughter-in-law lied, “Mother, so sorry to hear that you are sick. I just had a fall and broke my leg. It’s hurting and I can’t attend to you.” Two months later, she really had a fall and injured her knee. As a result, she had to stay in bed.

How did this injury come about? When we return kindness with ingratitude! Open your heart and love the world with compassion. Love your mother-in-law and those related to you. Think of their good points and your heart will start to warm up. From this moment on, you will start to feel positive energy generating from within. When positive energy rises, negative energy will certainly diminish. Your illness will begin to heal and you may even gain full recovery.

If we want to recover from our illness, we need to cultivate compassion. We need to get to the source to resolve the fundamental cause.
Why is compassion the most important reason to health? Let us explore “The Foundation of Compassion” in greater depth during this Saturday’s group practice.
Welcome everyone to share your thoughts.
May all enjoy health and happiness!
