「菩提心」究竟是什麼呢？

問：「什麼是菩提心？」
結果我收到很多的答案，例如：想要把一切好的東西都給別人，看到他人痛苦就好像自己也受苦，這是「菩提心」？
.
打個比方：以前有些老居士一閉關三十年，不食人間煙火，每天在家裡對著佛像上香、念經、磕頭，其他的善事一概沒有做過，他覺得沒有做錯事，就是善行了，不起害人的心就是菩提心了。
但其實這只是止惡，就像賭博的不賭了，但賭債還沒還完一樣意思，這債務就是我們與生俱來的業，躲再遠也跑不掉的！
.
當一個人，能夠「無所求」地去行善、助人時，內在歡喜才會自然湧現，做了以後就放下，不去想得到任何回報或讚美，歡喜做，甘願受，心裡也從不覺得自己是在做善事，而是做自己應該做的事，以這樣的姿態堅持下去，遇到阻礙也不改初衷，這就是「菩提心」！

最後我給大家的提示：
「時時用善心對人，時時無私地助人，時時懷有報恩之心，這樣我們就會輕鬆快樂地行走在解脫的金光大道上。」

能力vs本事，哪個重要？
.
有本事的做老闆，有能力的做主管？！怎麼說呢？？
舉個真實範例給大家參考研究…
.
有一位女同修她在一家公司上班！
她的英文、文書處理、電腦、口才、技術等都沒有別人好。
但她在公司各部門中，就屬她的薪水最高，為什麼？
因為，無論老闆交代下什麼工作，她都能快速並且很圓滿的將它完成。
不論過程有多少障礙，只要她出面，她就是有辨法把事處理好。
這就是一個人的本事。

回頭想想，其實社會上很多有能力的人，卻整天只是覺得自己懷才不遇、時運不佳、怨天尤人，最後空有能力卻一事無成！
.
學習，使自己成為一個有能力也有本事的人，
正向積極、能勇敢面對挫折，並且冷靜解決問題的人，就是有本事的人。

Ability vs Capability – which is more important?

A capable person will become a boss, while someone with ability will just be a supervisor. Why is that so? Let me give you a real-life example…

One of our female practitioners works in a particular company. Her English, secretarial and computer skills are mediocre and she is also not particularly eloquent. However, she has the highest pay in her company’s payroll. Why is that so?

The reason lies in her ability to produce good results very quickly for every task that her boss assigns to her. She has the capability to overcome all obstacles to get the tasks completed, which makes her a capable person.

Take a close look around us and you will notice that there are many people with great ability in today’s society. They do not accomplish much as they spend too much time lamenting over their ill luck and grumbling about the lack of recognition from their superiors.

Be a person who learns how to turn ability into actual capability. Be that capable person who faces obstacles with courage as well as positivity and solves problem with a calm mind.

禪法修行的四字要訣

曾經有弟子問我：「這個世界是由因緣和合而成，人來到世間、遇到的一切事、面臨的一切苦，都是由『前因』決定的，既然因緣已經註定，煩惱已經註定，那我學會看開就好了，多讀一些心靈雞湯的書籍，心胸再寬闊些、神經再大條些、心態再陽光些，隨遇而安，對境不生『煩惱心』不就行了嗎？還修禪做啥呢？ 」

其實隨遇而安有兩個層次，第一是融入環境、第二是改變環境。高境界的人容易和環境結合起來：既讓這個環境影響著自己，自己也會影響這個環境。當我們順著「慈悲喜捨」的一路指引，深入禪定之後，能讓我們成長到足夠強大，擁有改變環境、改變人生、甚至改變世界的能力。這樣的修行，更具有超凡入聖的能力，和普度眾生的神聖意義。

The four key words in meditation practice

Once a disciple asked me, “The world is made up of karmic affinities. Since our accumulated karma is the reason for us to come to this world and our destinies have been pre-destined since birth, we should simply learn to accept and let go. To help us broaden our hearts and spiritual realm, we can choose to read books for the soul like the Chicken Soup series so that we will have more positive outlooks in life and not be easily troubled in the face of adversities. So, why we do still need to cultivate?

In reality, there are two levels of acceptance with calmness. The first is to integrate into the environment; the second is to change the environment. People in the high spiritual realm can easily become one with the environment: environment affects them and they affect the environment. When we follow the guidance of “Compassionate joyous giving” and enter deep meditative state, we will have the ability to change our surroundings, our lives and even transform the world. This form of self-cultivation has the ability to help us transcend worldliness and attain great divine power to relieve sentient beings from pain and sufferings.

Now, I welcome all to join me in opening the door of self-cultivation. Experience for yourself the wisdom and mystery that lies beneath deep meditative state. Gain a profound understanding of the “Four immeasurables” and attain the miracles of tranquility, great wisdom and complete enlightenment.

祝福大家衛塞節快樂！

今天是五月第一個月圓日，在南傳佛教當中，這個日子有個特別的名稱叫「衛塞節」（Vesak），Vesak意喻為「月圓」，是為了紀念釋迦牟尼佛誕辰、成道、涅槃所設立。ㄧ般每年的衛塞節日期並不固定，但一般來說，會把日期訂定為陽曆五月的第一個月圓日。
.
衛塞節都做些什麼呢？
亞洲一些佛教信仰國家，如新加坡、馬來西亞、印度尼西亞、柬埔寨、泰國、斯里蘭卡，都將衛塞節訂定為假期，而且每年到了這一天，大多佛像也都要重新裝飾一番，並且舉辦盛大的慶祝活動：比方說浴佛、禮佛誦經、祈福、繞行寺廟祝禱，或者行善賑濟貧苦的活動，甚至是花車遊行、音樂、舞蹈……等等。
.
慶祝活動的壓軸是在街道上進行的燭光遊行。不同的國家、地區，都有其各自的慶祝方式，使這個值得慶賀的日子，增添了更多和平、吉祥的意味。

Vesak day

Today is the first full-moon of May. According to the Theravada Buddhist tradition, this special day is called the Vesak Day. Vesak means full moon; It is the day to commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and nirvana of Sakyamuni Buddha. The actual day of Vesak Day is not a fixed day in the calendar. However, it usually falls on the first fill-moon day of May.

What do we do on Vesak Day?
Some Asian countries that include Buddhism as a religion like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and Sri-Lanka designate Vesak Day as a public holiday. On this day, most of the Buddha statues are decorated, together with hosting of grand celebratory events including bathing of the Buddha, chanting, praying for blessings, circumambulating the temples and do charitable acts for the unfortunate. There may also be music, dance and parades.

The main attraction would usually be the parade of lights along the main thoroughfare of the city. Different countries and regions have various ways of celebrations, adding to the aura of peace and auspiciousness of the day.

Wishing all on Vesak Day, a day of reunion, like the full-moon, and be blessed with happiness!!
