過去養雞似乎是鄉下地區才會從事的辛苦行業，但最近矽谷興起了一股養雞風潮，這些科技新貴們把養雞當成了一種「時尚」，他們用對待寵物的方式來養雞，不只打造高科技雞舍，還請專門獸醫，餵食新鮮生菜、有機西瓜，稱得上是過著超高級享受的生活了！

問問這些新貴為何要養雞，他們的理由是：「坐下來看動物是很有意思的一件事，因為你並不是看著螢幕，而是看著一個生命，這跟我平時工作完全不同。」原來這些新貴在冰冷的科技後面，還是有著一顆溫熱的心啊！

他們喜歡看著不同品種的雞生下不同顏色的蛋，並且研究不同雞種的個性，就跟貓狗這些寵物一樣，有些也有著冷靜、親人的特質，不過能玩得起這種養雞遊戲的，前提當然是經濟許可囉！畢竟不是每戶人家都能有院子和雞舍的！

有句話說：「要知道一個國家文不文明，看他們對待動物的態度就知道了！」
有陣子流行瘋養「電子雞」來當娛樂，現在這娛樂搬來現實生活了，誰說養雞就只能為了吃牠呢？只要是有生命的物體，不都值得這樣平等的對待與愛護嗎？

這些飼主們想當然爾是不吃雞肉的，也許他們的動機我們不得而知，但每個地球上的生命都有靈性，這點應該不難理解，也許幫這些雞兄弟姊妹平平反，重新思考如何正確對待動物，也不可不謂是好事一樁囉！

In the past, rearing chickens seems like a tough countryside job. However, the latest status symbol of Silicon Valley’s new tech elites is rearing chickens. These new tech elites have adopted chicken rearing as a trend. They create high-tech chicken coops and also engage veterinarians, feeding their chickens with fresh lettuce and organic watermelons. These chickens are living a super-premium life!

The reason quoted by these tech elites for rearing chickens is: “It is very interesting to sit down and look at animals because you are not looking at the screen but looking at a life. This is totally different from my usual job.” It turns out that these tech elites, who face icy technology still have a warm heart!

They like to watch different breeds of chickens give birth to different colored eggs, and study the personalities of different types of chickens. Just like cats and dogs, some of them also have calm or loving characteristics. However, not all can afford a chicken-rearing hobby. After all, it is only a hobby for the family which can afford to have big backyard and chicken coops!

There is a saying that goes: “You can tell how well-developed a country is by looking at their general attitude toward animals!” There was a time when people were crazy about the popular “electronic chickens” as a form of entertainment. Now this entertainment has moved into real life. Who says that chickens can only be reared in order to be eaten. As long as its a living thing, shouldn’t it be given equal treatment and love?

We would assume that these chicken breeders would abstain from eating chicken. Perhaps their motives are unknown to us. But every life on Earth has its spirituality. It is not a bad thing to help these chicken brothers and sisters to have a new lease of life and for us to rethink about the treatment of animals by humans!
