受益于《袈裟》书里的“观世音菩萨显圣”照片

“从小到大,我的身体都比较虚弱,怕冷,手脚常常是冰冷的。头痛的问题也陪伴我好几年了,但到医院检查却什么问题都查不出来。

因为妈妈的原因,我接触到了菩提禅修,并且被《袈裟》书里的“观世音菩萨显圣”照片所吸引。很神奇的,在看了“观世音菩萨显圣像”后,我的手脚变暖和了,一直到现在我的手脚都是暖暖的。

晚上睡觉时,我下意识地把《袈裟》书放在了枕头下面,却发现第二天头更痛了。第二天晚上我还是把《袈裟》书放在了枕头下面睡觉,醒来后我没有再头痛了,而且一直到现在我的头再也没有痛过了。多年的头痛不药而愈,我太高兴了!”

Her headaches amazingly disappeared with just a copy of the book “Buddhist Robes” or “Jia Sha”.

Ms Wong:
“Since young, my body had been weak. I could not tolerate cold temperatures and my hands and feet were often cold. I had headaches for years. I went to hospitals for check-ups but there was no diagnosis to my problem.

I was introduced to Bodhi Meditation through my mom and I was attracted to the photo of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the book “Buddhist Robes” or “Jia Sha”. It was rather amazing that just by looking at the Guanyin photo, my hands and feet started to warm up until now.

At night, I subconsciously placed the book under my pillow and the next morning, my headache was worse than usual. I did it again on the second night and the headache disappeared! Until now, it seems like it has vanished into thin air. After so many years of headaches, I am indeed grateful and happy!”

教妳如何包粽子

仲夏到粽飄香 支支桿子串成花。
想養生學包綜 料多味美在自家。
.
粽子的米一般可分成三大類:
1.湖州粽
糯米完全沒炒過,只有泡過,所以要水煮2小時以上。
湖州粽屬於單純的製作方式,但如果做的好,它的單純最能表現米飯的樸實和美味,吃起來口感清香而不膩,不容易發胖。

2.台灣南部粽
糯米炒到半熟入粽葉包好再下水煮。大約水煮1小時。
米飯的口感適合所有人們喜愛。
.
3.台灣北部粽
糯米炒熟才包入粽葉中,入粽葉包好再蒸熟。吃起來口感硬些,也相對油膩,容易發胖。(北部粽等於是炒熟的糯米飯,包在粽葉裡蒸蒸就吃。)

《教你包好粽》
材料:
糯米………………… 1000克
栗子………………100-200克
花生或米豆………100-200克
香菇……………………20朵
碎蘿蔔乾………………200克
蔬菜油…………………4大匙

調味料:
醬油……………………5大匙
素蠔油……………………2大匙
鹽……………………各1小匙
五香粉、胡椒粉……各1小匙

棕葉一串20粒……大葉20片(約100克)
純棉粽繩……………一串
.
做法:
1) 糯米、栗子、米豆(花生)、香菇泡水數小時瀝乾備用。栗子、香菇切半,一起放入鍋中滷15分鐘。
2) 蘿蔔乾洗淨,用1大匙油炒香。
3) 起油鍋,把1料加入翻炒,再加1杯香菇水,炒到水份收乾即可。
4)使用2片粽葉,捲成甜筒狀(尖的朝外)
先薄薄鋪一大匙糯米,放入各種餡料,再鋪兩大匙糯米蓋住餡。
5) 左手虎口掌握粽子,右手把葉梗摺回包好,用粽繩綁好。

6) 熱水燒開,把粽子下鍋以大火煮1小時即可。水量要淹過粽子,其間加水需加滾水,不可加冷水。

備註:
1.長糯米較硬,圓糯米較軟,可依自己喜歡的口感選擇。
2.不同粽子的粽葉都不同,購買時先向老闆詢問清楚。

The method of making rice dumplings

The fragrance of dumplings fills the air in mid summer.
Every rod is strung with what looks like flowers.
Learn how to make nutritious dumplings filled with wonderful ingredients at the comforts of your home.

Generally, there are 3 types of rice in making rice dumplings:

1. Huzhou dumplings
The glutinous rice is usually not fried, but boiled for 2 hours or more after soaking.
The method used to make Huzhou dumplings is simple. However, if done well, it is the best method to bring out the rice’s texture and fragrance. It is light, non-greasy and does not easily cause one to gain weight by eating it.

2. Taiwan Southern dumplings
The glutinous rice is fried till half-cooked before it is wrapped into the dumpling leaves and boiled in water for an hour till it is fully cook. The rice texture of this type of dumpling is generally well liked by most people.

3. Taiwan Northern dumplings
The glutinous rice is fried till fully cooked before wrapping it up with dumpling leaves and steam. The rice’s texture feels harder and is relatively greasier. Eating it would make one put on weight more easily. (For Northern dumplings, all that is needed is to steam the dumplings just before eating as the glutinous rice is already fully cooked).

《Method of making dumplings》
Ingredients:
1kg Glutinous rice
100-200g Chestnut
100-200g Peanut or rice beans
20 pieces Mushroom
200g Dried radish
4 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Condiments:
5 tablespoons Soya sauce
2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Five spices powder
1 teaspoon Pepper

20 large dumpling leaves to make a bundle of 20 dumplings
1 roll pure cotton string (to tie the dumplings)

Method:
1) Soak the glutinous rice, chestnut, rice bean (or peanut) and mushroom for a few hours before draining it for use. Cut the chestnut and mushroom into half and put them into a pot to stew for 15 minutes over medium fire.
2) Wash the dried radish and fry it till it is fragrant using 1 tablespoon of oil.
3) Light the stove with oil and fry all the ingredients in (1) then add in 1 cup of the mushroom stock. Fry till the stock has been soaked up by the ingredients.
4) Use 2 pieces of dumpling leaves and fold it into a tube shape (pointed edge to face downwards). Spread thinly a spoonful of glutinous rice, put in a variety of fillings and spread two spoons of glutinous rice to cover the fillings.
5) With your left hand holding the dumpling in between your thumb and fingers, use your right hand to fold the leave inwards then fasten with the string. (Pls refer to the video for details)
6) After the water has boiled, put the dumplings into the pot and boil the dumplings for about 1 hour using high fire. The dumplings should be immersed in the water. Do top up with boiling water during the cooking process instead of cold water.

Things to note:
1) Long-grained glutinous rice is harder as compared to the round-grained ones. Choose the type of glutinous rice based on your preference.
2) Different types of leaves are used for the different types of dumplings. Ask the shop selling the leaves before buying.

去年底大學畢業後的我才剛滿24歲,突然發現自己對未來很迷茫,找不到未來的方向。再加上身體狀況問題不斷,我的情緒一直不太穩定,因此家人就建議我來菩提禪修,今年5月,我很幸運地有機會參加了菩提禪修健身班。

參加健身班的頭幾天,我好像沒有什麼明顯的感覺。課程到了第7天,因為睡晚了,在時間緊迫的情況下,我去禪堂上課時忘記戴眼鏡,我才發現眼睛不痛了。因為如果我長時間不戴眼鏡,眼睛就會很疲倦、不舒服、頭痛和頭暈。由於眼睛還有散光,如果晚上開車不佩戴眼鏡,我會被來往車輛的車燈照射到眼睛而感到疼痛,在這樣的情況下開車是很危險的。可當天卻沒有那些狀況發生,而且晚上都可以不佩戴眼鏡開車了!從此我就不再需要依賴眼鏡了。

還有一個奇積,幾年前,我打羽毛球時傷到了腰,常常飽受腰酸痛的困擾。在課程第一、二天盤腿時我的腰特別酸痛,一直都很想站起來。課程第6天,我無意中發現腰的酸痛減少了很多。在健身班圓滿後,我的腰沒有再酸痛了,而且打球時也能完成高難度的動作,那是之前沒辦法做到的,而且從那時開始腰都沒有再“鬧脾氣”酸痛了。

—佛前「供燈」讓我心想事成—

最令我感動的是,班程中我點了一盞「祈福燈」,祈禱希望我能進入心目中的公司,並且課程那幾天都堅持完成108個或36個大禮拜,希望能一切順利。與此同時我又很想參加在7月22日開課,由金菩提宗師親自教授的、為期12天的菩提禪修青年禪修營(以下簡稱:禪修營)。因為我希望能得到金菩提宗師的指點,讓我走出在大學畢業後低谷和迷茫的日子。我擔心工作和禪修營的時間碰撞,點燈過後去求籤,真誠地向宗師請求,希望我在這兩件事上能都達成,如果不可以同時達到的話,請宗師替我安排,如何在這兩件事上取捨。是應該上班還是上禪修營?簽文提示我“勿莽撞,隨機應變”。

在7月4日,我接到心儀的公司讓我去上班的來電,我和電話裡的人說,我有事不能馬上上班,希望貴公司能把日期往後推移。他同意把日期延遲至7月20日。但這日期仍與禪修營的時間碰撞。我就告訴他們,如果貴公司願意等我,我將在8月3日準時上班。公司表示需要請示上級。我萬萬沒想到的是,幾天後我收到公司的電郵表示他們願意等我。最後,在禪修營圓滿結束後,我在8月3日準時上班了!這真是兩全其美,心想事成!這全是金菩提宗師的加持和護佑!

感恩這兩班課程給予我生命的啟示,我對未來不再迷茫了,我對自己要走的路清晰了。禪修營圓滿後,我把在禪修營學到的智慧運用在工作上,人際關係等各方面都順暢和順利多了!感恩金菩提宗師的加持與護佑!

I graduated from university last year at the age of 24 years. All of a sudden, I found myself at a loss as to what was in store for me in the future. I realize I did not have any clear direction in life. As I was also constantly having health problems, my mood was rather unstable. Thus, my family suggested that I join Bodhi Meditation. In May this year, I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend the 8.5 Day Health & Happiness Retreat.

For the first few days, I did not have any special feeling. On the 7th day of the retreat, due to lack of sleep and in the midst of rushing to class, I forgot to bring my spectacles. Strangely, my eyes did not hurt at all. Under normal circumstances, if I do not put on my spectacles for a long period of time, my eyes would become very tired and uncomfortable. I would also experience headache and dizziness. As I have astigmatism, I need to put on my spectacles at night. Otherwise, the lights from oncoming vehicles would cause me to have a headache. It is very dangerous to drive under such conditions. However, on that day, none of the above symptoms appeared. I was able to drive at night without having to put on my spectacles. From then on, I do not need to rely on my spectacles anymore when I am driving.

There was also another miracle. A few years ago, I hurt my waist during a badminton game. Since then, I always had to live with the back pain. On the first and second day of the retreat, my back hurt a lot when I was sitting cross legged. I was very tempted to stand up. On the 6th day of the retreat, I unexpectedly realized that my back pain had greatly reduced. After the retreat, I realized that my back did not hurt anymore. Since then, I have bid farewell to my back pain. When playing badminton, I am now able to handle challenging movements which was impossible in the past.

My wish was fulfilled by offering a light before Buddha. I was very touched by what happened after that. During the retreat, I offered a light for blessings so that I would be recruited by my dream Company. For the few days during the retreat, I persistently did 108 or 36 times of full-prostration, hoping that my dream would come true. At the same time, I also wished to be able to join a new class which commenced on 22 July as it would be led personally by Master Jin Bodhi. It was a 12-day youth meditation camp known in short as ‘meditation camp’. After graduating from university , I was constantly in low spirits and had been drifting aimlessly. I hoped to attend the camp to receive Master Jin Bodhi’s guidance for a clear direction. I was very concerned that the dates for the camp could clash with my new job. Thus after lighting a lamp, I went to draw a divination lot. I prayed sincerely to Master for his blessings that both my wishes could be fulfilled. Should the timing clashed, I hope Master would enlighten me to make a choice between taking up the new job or going for the camp. The divination slip prompted me “Don’t be impetuous, just be pragmatic”

On 4th July, I received a call from my dream Company. I informed them that I was unable to report to work immediately. They acceded to my request and deferred the commencement date to after 20 July. However, this was still within the period of the youth meditation camp. I told them that if the Company was willing to accommodate me, I would report to work on time on 3 August. They replied that they needed to seek approval from higher level management. I never imagined that after only a few days, I received a email from them saying that they were willing to wait for me. Thus, upon completion of the youth meditation camp, I reported for work on 3 August. This is really having the best of both worlds and my dream really came true! My deepest gratitude to Master Jin Bodhi for his blessings and protection!

I am really thankful for the two classes which I had attended as it really gave me inspiration in life. I am now very clear of the route I want to embark on and no longer confused as to what to do going forward. Upon completion of the youth camp, I applied the wisdom I gained from the camp to my work place. I am able to maintain a good interpersonal relationship at work and all other areas of my work also seems to fall nicely in place. My utmost gratitude to Master Jin Bodhi for his blessings and protection.

他是一個音樂愛好者,因為腦中風、記憶力衰退,記不得歌譜,也忘了該如何正常生活,因為一段緣份他與菩提相遇,也奇蹟似的幫他重新拿起了闊別十多年的笛子,是什麼方法幫助他告別病痛、重拾健康呢?一起來看看他的故事吧。

我叫鐘紫山 ,來自馬來西亞,今年61歲。
我曾在2008年中風,後來經過醫生治療,行動上基本恢復正常,但腦裡面一直有一個5毛錢硬幣大小的血塊未除,導致我的記憶力減退,思維不像以前那樣敏捷,尤其是短期發生的事情記不住,講話也詞不達意,還會有些口吃。醫生說我目前的狀況,在醫學上是無有效的治療藥物。

今年有幸看到《禪修與健康》雜誌,跟著走了幾次「八卦」後,感覺很好,就決定報名參加2017年8月的菩提健身班。健身班的第2天,我就覺得精神好了很多,思維也比較清晰。
.
課程第3天駕車來禪堂的路上,我決定等一下要嘗試著帶領大家背誦《金菩提聖經》。於是,我利用45分鐘的路程時間,嘗試背誦。真沒想我竟然全背下來了! 這是中風以後9年的時間裡,我第一次能夠完整記憶。當天下午,我咳出了一些帶有小顆粒的痰,很臭,但喉嚨卻感覺舒服了很多。

課程第 4 天, 折磨了我十多年的脖子僵硬和疼痛,竟然徹底改善完全輕鬆了!頭部轉動的幅度恢復正常了。這幾天我的睡眠時間減少了,可是每天起來都覺得精神飽滿。體重也在逐漸下降,到結業那天,共減掉4.6公斤。之前,我每天須服2次的降血糖藥,血糖還一直在7-9mmol/L 之間;可在課程期間,沒有服降血糖藥,血糖也沒有超過9mmol/L(編者注:菩提禪修不提倡自行停藥、減藥,請遵循醫囑)。

課程第7天,原本沒有辦法長時間盤坐的我,能全程盤坐誦念佛號了。中午修練了《大光明修持法》後,我又再次咳出了一口痰,之後整個喉嚨感覺很輕鬆、很通暢。

8天半的課程,我「辟穀」了一個多星期,全天不喝水也不覺口乾,不吃不喝卻又精力充沛(編者注:「辟谷」是禪修過程中出現的一種可遇而不可求的現象。表現為不吃飯或者少吃飯,但感覺不渴、不餓,睡眠明顯減少,而且精力充沛、身心輕鬆)。

現在,我身邊的朋友都發現我講話比之前流利了,記憶力提升了、思維也清晰了。中風後,曾經耳熟能詳的音樂旋律都沒辦法記起,禪修後,現在竟一一浮現出來了。

就在結業當天,我決定挑戰自己,重拾放下十多年的笛子為大家演奏,我挑戰成功了!我太開心了! 感恩金菩提宗師!我一定會繼續堅持修練。

A music enthusiast was able to easily play his flute with melodious Bodhi music after giving up more than ten years ago. This music marked the end of pain and suffering for him, heralding a new life of good health. Here is the wonderful sharing of the meditation journey of Zhong Zi Shan.
My name is Zhong Zi Shan and I live in Malaysia. I am 61 years old. I suffered a stroke in 2008, but was fortunate to regain most of my mobility after treatment. But a blood clot, a size of a 50-cent coin remained in my brain, which affected the clarity of my thoughts and a deteriorating memory. I was very poor at remembering events that just happened. My speech also suffered as I could not seem to convey my meaning and I also stutter. The doctor told me that there was no medication that could improve my conditions effectively.

This year, I had the good fortune to come across the “Meditation and Health” magazine. I first signed up for Energy Bagua. After practicing it for a while, the benefits are good and I decided to proceed for the Health and Happiness retreat in Aug 2017, to deepen my understanding of Bodhi Meditation. From the second day, I felt a vast improvement in my energy level, and my thoughts also became more organized and clear.

As I was driving to the meditation center on the third day of the retreat, I decided to attempt to lead the class in reciting “Grandmaster JinBodhi’s Golden Words”. I tried to memorize it during the 45 min drive, and the miracle happened – I was able to memorize all of it during that short period of time! This is the first time that I am able to memorize anything ever since the stroke 9 years ago. That afternoon, I coughed out some smelly phlegm that had some small particles in it, after which my throat felt very comfortable.
On the fourth day of the retreat, I experienced a vast improvement in my neck stiffness that had plagued me for more than a decade. I was finally able to relax fully! There was also an improvement in the degree to which I could turn my neck. I have been sleeping fewer hours this week, but each morning I felt more refreshed and energetic when I wake up. I also lost some weight – about 4.6kg by the end of the retreat. Before the class, I took medication twice a day to control my blood sugar level which hovered between 7-9mmol/L. During the retreat, I stopped my medication and yet my blood sugar level never exceeded 9mmol/L. (Editor’s note: Bodhi Meditation does not encourage students to stop or reduce dosage of medication without consulting the doctor. Please follow doctor’s instructions).
While we were watching Master’s “The Empowerment of Compassion”, I too experienced Master’s energy blessings. Tears ran down my cheeks, mucus flowed freely from my nose, and I felt what seemed like an electric current flowing within my head. This persisted for two days. I also noticed that the small red dots that were on my inner knees had also faded quite a bit after the energy blessing.

On the seventh day, I was able to sit cross-legged while chanting. Previously I was not able to sit cross-legged for a long period of time. While practicing the Meditation of Greater Illumination in the afternoon, I coughed out more phlegm and felt a strong sense of comfort and relaxation in my throat after that.

From the start of the 8.5-day retreat, I went into spontaneous fasting for more than a week. I was not thirsty even though I had not drunk anything the whole day. I felt energetic without food or drink the whole duration. (Editor’s note: Spontaneous fasting is a natural occurrence in the process of meditation and cannot be self-imposed. During the fasting period, the practitioner would eat very little or not eat at all, yet he or she would not feel hungry or thirsty. The hours of sleep would also be reduced, yet he or she would feel energetic and at ease). After the retreat, friends around me also noticed that I have become more eloquent, my thoughts are clearer and my memory improved. Before meditation, I could never remember the melody of music pieces that sounded really familiar to me. Yet now, they are all starting to resurface in my memory. On the day of graduation, I took on a challenge to pick up the flute which I have stopped playing for more than a decade, and played a song for all my classmates. It was a success! I am filled with happiness!

I am deeply grateful to Master Jin Bodhi! And I stand in praise of the meditation methods taught by the master! I will definitely persevere in my practice!

十多年前(16歲)我被診斷出患上了甲狀腺腫大。這導致了我的心跳加速、眼突、手抖、脖子變粗,晚上睡覺多夢難眠。長期的睡眠不好也讓我變得越來越難以專心做事,脾氣暴躁。而脖子變粗讓我很自卑,不敢穿沒領子的衣服。醫生不建議我開刀,因為復發率會很高。吃了醫生給我開的藥4年多後,心跳總算回復正常,脖子也稍有收縮,手抖情況也改善了。但是藥的副作用導致我全身浮腫,而且睡眠方面沒有改善,醫生就建議我暫時停藥,但是停藥不久後,之前的症狀又復發了。

西藥不能根治我的病,因此在超過11年的時間裡,我不斷四處尋找中醫療法,積蓄差不多用完了,還是沒有找到辦法幫到我,疾病還是沒有好轉。我徹底失望了!而且因為多年來的睡眠問題,我的情緒變得越來越糟糕,做事更難專注。令我雪上加霜的是,從22歲開始,我更被痛經所困惱,幾乎每個月都痛得要請病假。這種種問題影響到了我的工作效率及與同事的關係。

7天的課程,改善了我的大頸泡和痛經。
經過朋友介紹,抱著試試看的心態我參加了馬來西亞2016年底的「千人八卦」活動,並報名參加了2017年1月份的7天「八卦內功」基礎班。課程的第3天,我的喉嚨裡不斷發出陣陣難聞的味道,感覺到好像有很多痰在融化。這期間我不斷地吐痰,發覺大頸泡有縮小的跡象。7天的課程圓滿後,我發現我的大頸泡竟然明顯地縮小了,而且10多年的睡眠問題也大大地改善,做夢的次數減少了,我睡得比之前沉穩了,連經痛也舒緩了很多,再不會痛到沒法上班,我的皮膚也變光滑了。手抖沒有了,心跳也正常了,除了外形外,幾乎所有大頸泡的症狀都消失了。

身心靈獲得了提升 當義工服務大眾
這一切的變化,實在讓我太振奮了,我終於找到方法改善我的健康問題,刹那間我整個人充滿了希望,非筆墨所能形容我當時的激動和感歎!從那時開始,我堅持每天走「八卦」。禪堂的環境和義工們的熱情讓我感覺很溫暖,好像回到家一般。所以我在2月份就報了名在禪堂當義工。

接著,我也參加了馬來西亞3月份的菩提禪修健身班。禪修後,除了健康問題改善了很多。透過聆聽金菩提宗師的開示,我的身心靈也提升了很多,同事們都覺得我比之前柔和了,人際關係也得到了改善。家人看到我的改變,從一開始的不支持和擔心變成現在的支持,甚至說要來禪堂參加課程,以便對菩提禪修有更多的瞭解。

現在,我每天堅持走「八卦」1小時,修練「無量大光明修持法」1小時。

Farewell to prolong suffering from hyperthyroidism and menstrual cramps

Illness does not only affect the elderly. Since young, she suffers from swelling of the thyroid that affected her body, emotions, life, career and interpersonal relationships. As years passed, the symptoms aggravated. After 11 years searching for a cure in her fight against hyperthyroidism, she finally discovered that the end to her nightmares in life lies in a non-medical approach. Let us hear her story….

My name is Yanling Li.
Ten years ago, when I was 16 years old, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The disease made me suffer from an accelerated heartbeat, exophthalmos, shaky hands, thick neck and poor sleep interrupted by many dreams. The lack of sleep made it difficult for me to focus on my work and my temperament deteriorated. As my neck was thicker than normal, I lost my self-confidence and did not have the courage to wear shirts without collars. The doctor advised against surgery as the probability of relapse is high. I took the medication prescribed by the doctor for 4 years, which helped to regulate my heartbeat, reduced the swelling of my neck as well as ease the trembling of my hands. However, the medication had side effect, which caused my body to swell all over. There was also no improvement to the quality of my sleep, and the doctor advised me to stop the course of medication. Not long after that, all the previous symptoms returned with a vengeance.

When I realized that western medicine was unable to help, I turned to traditional Chinese medicine for a cure. Over the course of more than 11 years, I have used up almost all my savings, and yet I was unable to find a method to help me or ease my pain. I was thoroughly disheartened! In addition, due to my sleeping problem over the years, I became more and more moody and unable to focus. To add on to my woes, I started experiencing serious menstrual cramps from the age of 22 years. The cramps were so bad that I had to take medical leave almost every month. My work efficiency declined and so did my relationship with my colleagues.

The 7-day class tremendously reduced the swelling on my neck and my menstrual cramps
A friend encouraged me to signup for the “Thousand practitioners Energy Bagua event” at the end of 2016, followed by the 7-day Energy Bagua Foundation class in January of 2017. On the third day of the class, a pungent smell constantly emanated from my throat. It felt as if there was a lot of phlegm dissolving away. During this period of time, I kept throwing up phlegm and the swelling on my neck showed signs of getting smaller. At the end of the 7-day class, the swelling on my neck greatly reduced in size, and even my decade-old sleep problem showed signs of improvement: I was able to fall into deeper sleep as the occurrences of dreams reduced. Even my menstrual cramps reduced in intensity. My skin became smoother, my hands no longer trembled and my heartbeat returned to normal. Other than the physical swelling, almost all the other symptoms of hyperthyroidism were gone.

As my mind and body went through uplifting improvement, I became a volunteer to serve the public.
All these changes made me ecstatic: I have finally found the solution to my health problems! At that instant, I was filled with a great sense of hope. No words can describe my sense of exhilaration! Since then, I have persevered on by practicing Energy Bagua daily. The ambience of the meditation center and the enthusiasm of the volunteers filled me with warmth. I felt like this was home. Hence I signed up to be a volunteer in the meditation center in February.

Following that, I also attended the Health and Happiness Meditation Class in March. As I listened to Grandmaster JinBodhi’s teachings, I was uplifted in both body and mind. Colleagues felt that I had become a lot gentler and my interpersonal relations have improved. As my family witnessed the changes in me, they became very supportive of what I was doing, and even wanted to attend the Health and Meditation class to increase their understanding of Bodhi Meditation.

Now, every morning, I practice an hour of Energy Bagua, followed by an hour of Meditation of Greater Illumination.

I am eternally grateful to Bodhi Meditation, and to Grandmaster JinBodhi, for regaining my health, happiness and confidence! I have also vowed to follow Master’s compassionate teachings and help more people regain their health and happiness!

Farewell to prolong suffering from hyperthyroidism and menstrual cramps
.
Illness does not only affect the elderly. Since young, she suffers from swelling of the thyroid that affected her body, emotions, life, career and interpersonal relationships. As years passed, the symptoms aggravated. After 11 years searching for a cure in her fight against hyperthyroidism, she finally discovered that the end to her nightmares in life lies in a non-medical approach. Let us hear her story….

My name is Yanling Li.
Ten years ago, when I was 16 years old, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The disease made me suffer from an accelerated heartbeat, exophthalmos, shaky hands, thick neck and poor sleep interrupted by many dreams. The lack of sleep made it difficult for me to focus on my work and my temperament deteriorated. As my neck was thicker than normal, I lost my self-confidence and did not have the courage to wear shirts without collars. The doctor advised against surgery as the probability of relapse is high. I took the medication prescribed by the doctor for 4 years, which helped to regulate my heartbeat, reduced the swelling of my neck as well as ease the trembling of my hands. However, the medication had side effect, which caused my body to swell all over. There was also no improvement to the quality of my sleep, and the doctor advised me to stop the course of medication. Not long after that, all the previous symptoms returned with a vengeance.

When I realized that western medicine was unable to help, I turned to traditional Chinese medicine for a cure. Over the course of more than 11 years, I have used up almost all my savings, and yet I was unable to find a method to help me or ease my pain. I was thoroughly disheartened! In addition, due to my sleeping problem over the years, I became more and more moody and unable to focus. To add on to my woes, I started experiencing serious menstrual cramps from the age of 22 years. The cramps were so bad that I had to take medical leave almost every month. My work efficiency declined and so did my relationship with my colleagues.

The 7-day class tremendously reduced the swelling on my neck and my menstrual cramps
A friend encouraged me to signup for the “Thousand practitioners Energy Bagua event” at the end of 2016, followed by the 7-day Energy Bagua Foundation class in January of 2017. On the third day of the class, a pungent smell constantly emanated from my throat. It felt as if there was a lot of phlegm dissolving away. During this period of time, I kept throwing up phlegm and the swelling on my neck showed signs of getting smaller. At the end of the 7-day class, the swelling on my neck greatly reduced in size, and even my decade-old sleep problem showed signs of improvement: I was able to fall into deeper sleep as the occurrences of dreams reduced. Even my menstrual cramps reduced in intensity. My skin became smoother, my hands no longer trembled and my heartbeat returned to normal. Other than the physical swelling, almost all the other symptoms of hyperthyroidism were gone.

As my mind and body went through uplifting improvement, I became a volunteer to serve the public.
All these changes made me ecstatic: I have finally found the solution to my health problems! At that instant, I was filled with a great sense of hope. No words can describe my sense of exhilaration! Since then, I have persevered on by practicing Energy Bagua daily. The ambience of the meditation center and the enthusiasm of the volunteers filled me with warmth. I felt like this was home. Hence I signed up to be a volunteer in the meditation center in February.

Following that, I also attended the Health and Happiness Meditation Class in March. As I listened to Grandmaster JinBodhi’s teachings, I was uplifted in both body and mind. Colleagues felt that I had become a lot gentler and my interpersonal relations have improved. As my family witnessed the changes in me, they became very supportive of what I was doing, and even wanted to attend the Health and Meditation class to increase their understanding of Bodhi Meditation.

Now, every morning, I practice an hour of Energy Bagua, followed by an hour of Meditation of Greater Illumination.
.
I am eternally grateful to Bodhi Meditation, and to Grandmaster JinBodhi, for regaining my health, happiness and confidence! I have also vowed to follow Master’s compassionate teachings and help more people regain their health and happiness!

端午時節,包粽慶團圓
──馬來西亞交來禪堂,特色素粽子。

端午是華人社會最重要的大三節日之一,各地的華人都以不同的方式來慶祝節日,而粽子更是端午必吃的節日飲食,今年我們的交來禪堂包了兩款當地的特色素粽來跟大家分享,一甜一鹹,我也把食譜發上來,分享給想知道作法的朋友。也祝福大家身體健康,考生包中,佳節快樂!

【鹹味粽子】
備料:糯米、豆子、新鮮香菇、栗子、馬來香葉
作法:
1. 將糯米洗淨用油炒香
2. 新鮮香菇調味炒香
3. 將豆子、栗子、炒好的香菇、糯米、馬來香葉包入進洗淨的粽葉
4. 粽子綁好後放入鍋中煮上兩三小時即可

【甜味粽子】
備料:糯米、紅棗、豆子、冬瓜條
作法:
1.洗淨糯米
2.將糯米、紅棗、豆子和冬瓜條包進粽葉裡,放入鍋中煮上兩三小時即可

Dragon Boat Festival, Dumpling-making and Reunion
── Bodhi Meditation Centre in Cheras, Malaysia, Specialty vegetarian rice dumplings.

Dragon Boat Festival is one of the three most important and major festivals in the Chinese society. Chinese all over the world celebrate the festival in different ways, and rice dumplings is a must-eat during the Dragon Boat Festival. This year, the Bodhi Meditation Centre in Cheras prepared two varieties of the local specialty vegetarian rice dumplings to share with us – a sweet variety and a savory variety. I’m posting the recipe here to share with interested friends, and would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone excellent health, excellent results for candidates sitting for examinations, and a joyous festive season!

“Savory dumplings”
Ingredients:
glutinous rice
beans
fresh mushrooms
chestnuts
pandan leaves

Preparation:
1. Rinse the glutinous rice, then stir fry with oil for fragrance
2. Stir fry the mushrooms for fragrance
3. Wrap the beans, chestnuts, fried mushrooms, glutinous rice, pandan leaves in clean dumpling leaves
4. Cook the neatly wrapped and tied dumplings in a pot for two or three hours

“Sweet dumplings”
Ingredients:
glutinous rice
red dates
beans
winter melon strips

Preparation:
1. Rinse the glutinous rice
2. Wrap the glutinous rice, red dates, beans and winter melon strips into the dumpling leaves, place them in the pot to cook for two or three hours
