六字大明咒,讓兒子骨折的手臂快速康復。

提綱﹕兒子手臂手術之後,幾乎每晚痛得都無法入眠。後來,我試著播放金菩提宗師誦念的《六字大明咒》給兒子聽。沒想到,他當晚竟然在半小時內就睡著了!

原由…
今年9月底,我的兒子不幸跌倒,跌斷了左手臂的兩根骨頭。手術之後,在家休養的前2個星期,手臂痛得他幾乎每晚都無法入眠。

後來,我試著播放金菩提宗師誦念的《六字大明咒》給兒子聽,希望這吉祥的咒語能帶給他健康與吉祥。沒想到,他當晚竟然在半小時內就睡著了!兒子說他每次聽到咒語時,都會感覺比較平靜,似乎忘掉手臂的疼痛,每晚就睡得著覺了。

之前,他服食止痛藥後就會胃痛。《六字大明咒》讓手臂的痛顯著的減輕,他便不必吃止痛藥了!但是他一直不太敢移動左手臂,或做物理治療,因此整只手臂相當僵硬。

手術第3週,我鼓勵兒子和我一起做「大禮拜」,希望能幫他做復健。當時,兒子每天能順利的做20分鐘的「大禮拜」(沒做翻掌的動作)。一個星期之後,他的手臂靈活了許多。現在(11月底),他能做40分鐘的「大禮拜」(也做翻掌的動作了),還可以再彈鋼琴了!

看到他快速的康復,我們一家人都很慶倖,也很感恩。

Chanting the Six-Syllable Mantra helped my son’s broken arm heal quickly
Summary: My son underwent an arm surgery and was unable to sleep with the intense pain. One day, I decided to play the audio recording of the Six Syllable Mantra by Master Jin Bodhi for my son. Amazingly, he fell asleep within half an hour that night!
At the end of September last year, my son fell and broke two bones on his left arm. After the operation, he rested for two weeks in our home. However, his arm was so painful that he can hardly sleep every night.
Later, I played the Six Syllable Mantra chanted by Master Jin Bodhi, hoping that the auspicious chanting would bring him health and good fortune. Unexpectedly, he fell asleep within half an hour that night! My son said that each time he hears the recording, he feels calmer and forgets the pain in his arm, allowing him to sleep soundly every night.
In the past, he would get stomach pain after taking painkillers. Chanting the Six-Syllable Mantra helped to significantly reduce the pain in his arm and he does not need to take painkillers anymore! However, he is reluctant to move his left arm much or undergo physical therapy. Hence, his whole arm is quite stiff.
In the third week after surgery, I encouraged him to practice full prostration with me, hoping it would help with his recovery. At first, he was able to practice prostration for 20 minutes everyday (without turning his palms upwards). After a week, his arm was much more flexible. Now (at the end of November), he can practice prostration for 40 minutes (and also able to turn his palms facing upwards), and even play the piano again!
After witnessing our son’s rapid recovery, our family is very happy and grateful to Master Jin Bodhi.

修行的選擇,我提議「動靜結合」。
早晨儘量以動為主、晚上以靜為主。

動的修練方法,例如:
第一,做「大禮拜」。
有助於我們開發智慧、促進新陳代謝和瘦身減肥,甚至對婦科疾病,消化和心腦血管等相關問題,都有特別大的幫助。尤其是老人和孩子特別適合。孩子要想聰明智慧,考試更順利,可以修練大禮拜。那麼做多長時間會有效果呢?每天最少二十分鐘。

第二,走「八卦內功」。
通過這種訓練,讓我們自體的機能、熱能、能量,產生出來、調整、再加運用,對我們能量匱乏相關的疾病,幾乎都有效果。那麼做多長時間會有效果呢?每天堅持三十分鐘。

那麼到了晚上,就以靜的為好。
選擇做「大光明、念佛、清淨觀想法」,以不吵嚷到他人為考量。

這些方法,需要動靜結合著修,先持續一段時間,通常3個月左右,效果就很明顯了。
之後,根據自己的感受可以再換其它修練方法。

Q&A series—How to arrange the best timetable for our meditation practice?
Bodhi Meditation offers a few meditation methods which cater for people with different health conditions and each meditation method has its own health benefit and effect.
Personally, I would suggest a meditation schedule that combines a method with more physical movement and one that is quieter.
In the morning, choose a meditation method that requires more physical movement and at night, choose a quieter method.
Examples of meditation methods that requires more strenuous movements are:
1) Full Prostration
Full Prostration is beneficial for developing our wisdom, increasing our body metabolism and is a great way to lose weight! It also helps to alleviate gynecological illnesses and cardiovascular problems, as well as improving the digestive system. Prostration is an ideal meditation practice for the elderly and young children. Intelligent children will perform better in school. Hence, children are strongly encouraged to practice prostration. So, how long do we need to practice? At least 20 minutes a day.
2) Energy Bagua
Energy Bagua improves our body functions, generates heat and adjusts our bodily energy. With sufficient energy, illnesses that arise because of energy deficiency will be alleviated. For Energy Bagua, we have to practice at least 30 minutes a day.
At night, it is advisable to practice a meditation method that is quieter. An ideal choice would be to practice the Meditation of Greater Illumination, Chanting or the Meditation of Purity which would not disturb others.
Ideally, we should choose a meditation schedule comprising of one technique that requires physical movement and another that does not. The effect will become more obvious when we persevere in our practice for around 3 months.
After that, we can customize our own meditation practice according to the needs of our body.

是什麼方法,讓健康變簡單了?

問:「在生命的加減法中,有沒有一種實實在在的方法,能夠使我們的疾病、痛苦越來越少,而健康、快樂的能量越來越多呢?」
.
答案是:「有的」。
在韓國禪堂,有一位女弟子,她患有嚴重的風濕性關節炎,發作時會疼痛到哭。一直治不好,在一個機緣下遇上菩提禪修。第一次見面,就碰上我們韓國最嚴格的老師,女弟子問:「怎麼修才可以讓我快一點不再痛苦?」
老師:「磕頭,做大禮拜,一天磕八個鐘頭。」這誰受得了啊?!可是她就接受了。
「精誠所至,金石為開。」她磕了半年,風濕性關節炎竟然真的好了。原來已經變形,不能抓東西的手,現在竟能幹活了,縫衣服都可以了。我去韓國時,還給我做韓國飯。 她告訴我:「我現在有了健康,快樂也更多了。」

所以,通過「禪修」通常會帶給人們健康。

How can we attain good health easily?
.
Question: [In life’s formulas, is there any effective method to alleviate our illnesses, pain and sufferings while increasing our energy for good health and happiness?]
.
Answer: [Yes]
.
There was a female disciple from Korea Bodhi Meditation Center who suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis. The pain was so bad that she would lose control and teared whenever the pain acted up. She tried all means to cure her illness but to no avail. On one rare occasion, she came to know about Bodhi Meditation. During her first visit to Bodhi, she met a teacher in Korea Bodhi Meditation Center who had a reputation of being strict. The female disciple asked: [What can I do to alleviate my body discomfort and pain?]
.
Teacher: [Kow-tow, practice prostration eight hours each day.] This was not an easy task. However she abided by the teacher’s instruction and did as she was told.
.
As the Chinese saying goes: [Absolute sincerity can move even metals.] After half a year of prostration practice, she recovered completely. Previously she had problems holding things with her hands, now she can perform a lot of tasks, including sewing. When I was at Korea, she even prepared a Korean meal for me. She told me:[ I am very healthy and happy now.]

At times, it is very hard to predict the benefits of meditation. However, generally one’s health will improve after meditation.
.

我叫朱玉葉,來自馬來西亞_妙法禪堂。
由於產後憂鬱、壓力太大,20多年前我就開始失眠,需要借助安眠藥才可以入睡。
4年前有一次暈倒,我被送醫院後檢查發現是肌肉萎縮。開始只是右半身萎縮,一年多前慢慢變成全身,連血管和肺都在萎縮,全身無力。醫生說是壓力造成的,沒有藥物可以治療,只能給我能睡覺和不思考的藥物,讓我的腦袋休息和放鬆。可是我吃了4天后就不敢再吃了,因為擔心傷到大腦。
.
這4年來我定期每星期,要去做6-7小時的全身針灸,那個痛苦只有自己知道。就是這樣,也只是減緩症狀而已,每隔幾天還是會頭暈、呼吸不通暢,和手腳冰冷的情況發生。我為了治病,四處求醫,甚至賣掉了一間屋子,也沒找到有效的方法。我看到同樣患有肌肉萎縮的病友,已經有3位離世了,有的哪怕賣掉全部家當來治病,也挽救不回來生命。我害怕極了,每天壓力更大了,病也持續惡化,我的人生看不到任何的希望。

2016年12月,通過妹妹的介紹,我接觸到菩提禪修,也聽了許多師兄、師姐們各種神奇的體驗。我死馬當活馬醫,開始每天做1小時的大禮拜,做了大概1個多月後,我感覺全身開始溫暖起來了,手腳沒有那麼冰冷、身體還可以出汗,也稍微有力了。

接下來,我更報名,參加了2017年3月份的健身班。課程的第1天,我很擔心是否能堅持修練,因為我站不到10分鐘,或坐20分鐘左右就覺得無法支撐,身體非常吃力。我向金菩提宗師祈請,向藥師佛陀祈請,希望他可以護佑我,讓我可以支撐久一些。沒想到奇跡真的發生了!

接下來修練「大光明」時我竟然可以站半小時了,第2天,我可以站一小時修「大光明」,第5天可以站一個半小時了!而且每一次修練完,我都會滿身出汗。我的脊椎慢慢地變得比較有力了,剛開始上課,我坐1小時就撐不下去,現在我非常驚訝自己,竟然可以坐2小時了。

禪修後,我再沒有去針灸,沒有再暈倒過,呼吸也比較順暢了,睡眠恢復了正常。腿部的肌肉更慢慢地長出來了,走路有力了。

現在的我很開心,沒想到短短5個月的時間,就收到這麼好的效果!我不再恐懼,心中充滿信心和希望,相信菩提禪修一定會讓我越來越好!

My name is Yuye Zhu and I practice at JB FineDharma Bodhi Meditation Centre in Malaysia. Due to postnatal depression and severe stress, I started to suffer from insomnia 20 years ago, and had to rely on sleeping pills.
.
On one occasion four years ago, I lost consciousness and was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the hospital. At the beginning, only my right side of the body was affected. A year ago, it spread to my whole body, to the extent that my blood vessels and lungs were also contracting, causing weakness in my body. My doctor told me this illness was caused by my own stress, and it could not be cured with medication. I was merely prescribed with medicine to enable me to sleep and to relax my brain. I stopped taking the medicine after four days for fear of damage to my brain.

In the last 4 years, I attended acupuncture treatment every week, with each session lasting 6 to 7 hours. I went through this indescribable pain just to slow down the illness. I would still be dizzy, had difficulty breathing, with cold hands and feet every few days. To seek effective cure to my disease, I went looking for good doctors while selling away my house to fund the expenditure. Yet, I was still unable to find an effective cure. I witnessed the passing of three fellow patients who suffered from the same disease. Some of them had emptied their lifelong possessions to save their lives. I was terrified which escalated my stress level. My illness deteriorated by the day, I was losing all hopes in life.

In December 2016, I got in touch with Bodhi Meditation through my sister. I listened to many miraculous testimonials from those who practiced at Bodhi. As if grasping at straws, I started with one-hour prostration practice everyday. After about one month of practice, I began to feel warmth in my body and my cold hands and feet became less severe. I was able to perspire and I felt stronger.

I subsequently registered myself for the March 2017 Health and Happiness Retreat. On the first day, I was doubtful of my ability to complete the course as I felt difficulty to continue after standing for 10 minutes or sitting down for 20 minutes. I felt extreme weakness in my body. I prayed to Grandmaster JinBodhi and the Medicine Buddha for their blessings and guidance to enable me to persevere in my practice. I was surprised at the miracles that took place.

In my ensuing practice of “Meditation of Greater Illumination”, I was unbelievably able to stand to meditate for half an hour. On the second day, I stood for an hour to practice the MGI. By the fifth day, I could practice 1.5 hours in standing position! My whole body would perspire after each practice. My spine gradually strengthened and I was surprised that I was eventually able to sit on a cushion for 2 hours. I only could sit less than an hour before.

I stopped going for acupuncture after practicing meditation. I do not lose consciousness any more, and my breathing is now at ease. I have regular sleep and my leg muscles started to grow again and I can walk with more confidence.
.
Today, I am a very happy person. I never imagined that I received such good results in a short span of5 months! I am no more fearful for my life. Instead, I am now full of confidence and hope. I have faith in Bodhi Meditation, I will get better and better by the day!

我的法名叫備帆,今年(2017年)16歲。 。
是一名在校高中生,最熱愛的體育運動是打冰上曲棍球。
2013年8月,我在媽媽的建議下,第一次參加了菩提禪修舉辦的夏令營活動。豐富有趣的課程讓我喜歡上了菩提禪修的夏令營活動。

2015年8月,是我第三次參加菩提禪修的夏令營。此次活動,作為組長的我收穫頗多,學會了主動關心他人,並站在對方的角度,凡事先為他人著想。之前的兩次夏令營,我在爬山時會嫌棄其他落後的隊友們,但是這次活動中,我多了一份責任感,不僅走在隊伍的最後,還會去鼓勵那些落在後面的隊員們。當大家最終一起攜手站在山頂,露出開心的笑容時,我的心中被無限的輕鬆和快樂充滿著,我真正地體會到了快樂的根本就是讓他人感到開心。
回到學校,我也主動嘗試著去幫助他人。在我的學校中,有一位比我低兩年級的同學,平時很少說話,被人誤以為是「呆子」,常常受到其他人的嘲笑和孤立。而我卻試著去和他聊天,在認識和瞭解的過程中,我發現他並不是別人認為的「呆子」。從此只要有機會,我就會和他在一起,漸漸地,他從過去不愛說話,逐漸變得活潑開朗;從過去被其他同學孤立,逐漸變得能夠和周圍的人和諧相處。我從心底裡為他感到高興!
2016年3月20日至27日,我又報名參加了菩提禪修的開智班課程,在學習的過程中,我愛上了「菩提開智功」。課程結束後,我依然堅持在家中修練。漸漸地,我發現自己在打冰上曲棍球時,反應速度更快了,比過去更加機敏、靈活,頭腦變得更加清晰、專注,我也因此而變得更有自信了。如今的我,仍會堅持修練「菩提開智功」,並且每晚還至少會做36個大禮拜。
學習禪修之後,我和媽媽也有了更多的共同話題。我認為,一個人來到這個世界上,就有責任去關愛、幫助他人。而我就想成為這樣的一個人,用關愛和幫助的心,為他人帶來幸福和快樂!

My Dharma name is Beifan, 16 years old of age (in year 2017).
I’m a high school student and my favorite sport is ice hockey.
In August 2013, I took my mother’s advice and participated in Bodhi Meditation’s Summer Camp for the first time. The comprehensive and stimulating programs during the summer camp were enjoyable and drew me to more activities from Bodhi Meditation.
In August 2015, I participated in Bodhi Meditation’s summer camp for the third time. In addition to the activities, I benefited tremendously by serving as a group leader. I have learned to take the initiative to care for others, to put myself in others’ shoes to understand their perspectives, and also to put others before self. During the prior two summer camps, I would shirk at team members who had lagged behind, such as in mountain-climbing. But this time, I felt a sense of responsibility to support the last team member and encourage those who had fallen behind. Eventually, as we surmounted the mountain and stood tall at its peak, hand-in-hand, with smiles all round, there was an overwhelming sense of relief and exhilaration. I genuinely appreciated that true happiness is derived from the joy that we bring to others.
Back in school, I started to take the initiative to help my friends. There was a schoolmate who was two grades my junior. Introverted, he was mistaken for a “nerd”, often subjected to ridicule and being ostracized. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to chat with him. As I got to know and understand him better, I realized that he was not the “nerd” that others made him out to be. Whenever I had the chance, I would engage with him. Gradually, he began to open up and became more lively and cheerful, interacting harmoniously with his contemporaries. This was a departure from his isolated persona previously, and I was happy for him from the bottom of my heart!
I also registered and took part in a Bodhi Meditation Wisdom Awakening course, from March 20-27, 2016. In the process of learning, I was drawn to The Meditation of Awakening Wisdom. After the course, I continued to practice this meditation technique at home. Gradually, I found myself playing faster, becoming more agile and nimble, mentally sharper and more focused when playing ice hockey. As a result, my self-confidence increases. Till today, I conscientiously practice The Meditation of Awakening Wisdom and supplement this with at least 36 prostrations in the evenings.
After learning meditation, my mother and I have more topics in common. In my opinion, one’s mission in life is to care for and to help others. I want to be such a person, caring for and serving others, and bringing happiness and joy all around!

──改善文明病的最佳良方

久坐在辦公桌前的上班族,身體長期維持一個姿勢,肌肉時時處於繃緊的狀態。尤其是,長時間握著滑鼠或者寫字,手臂特別容易感到不舒服。還有髖關節,也就是大腿和臀部連接的部位,也容易因為久坐而呈現疲勞的狀態。當夏天來臨時,大家長時間坐在有風的空調屋裡,疲勞加上受風,時間久了,就很容易出現疼痛。

對於這種情況,解決的辦法有很多種,比如調整坐姿,每隔一段時間起來活動一下身體等等,都是很好的方式。除了這些以及前段時間提到的打滾放鬆法,還有一個方法——大禮拜。
.
大禮拜也是菩提禪修的主要修持方法之一。當我們在做大禮拜時,五體投地,全身貼到地面,我們的身體從手臂到整個脊柱就得到了舒展和放鬆,不僅骨骼得到了放鬆,還能夠疏通經絡,對於消除久坐產生的小肚腩也很有效,所以說上班族很適合做大禮拜。

德來:做大禮拜比做復健效果好太多了!

我的頸椎經電腦斷層確定第三椎跟第四椎已變形,醫生建議我不能再工作,要求做復健,否則當二節碰到一起,後果很嚴重。在經過復健一段時間後,效果並不明顯,改善很慢。
在念佛班第二天唱誦觀世音菩薩聖號時,我一個人靜靜地來到旁邊,真誠恭敬地做大禮拜。做完一小時後,渾身流汗,好舒服,站起來準備收工時,發現我的頸椎可以輕鬆的轉動了,好輕,沒有了以前的緊繃、僵直感,而且從手臂一直到指尖都是麻麻的。當下好興奮,回去後迫不及待跟太太講這個好消息,「做大禮拜比做複健效果好太多了,大禮拜太神奇了!」從那天起我只要一有空就做大禮拜,我的頸椎也沒有再出現以前的緊繃、僵直感。

Do you feel fatigued?
─ ─ the best ways to alleviate illnesses due to our way of life.
White-collar workers who sit in offices are used to maintaining the same posture for long periods of time. Their muscles and nervous system are constantly in a tight state. In particular, the arms tend to feel especially stiff or tense due to long hours of typing on the keyboard and holding a computer mouse. The hip area, together with the thighs and bum area, can also show signs of fatigue easily due to sitting in the same position for too long. During the hot summer, office workers may be sitting for long hours in air-conditioned rooms; joints are prone to arthritis pain as they are exposed to the cold air.
There are many solutions in such situations, such as moving the body or adjusting your sitting position from time to time. I have also mentioned previously about the “wallowing on the ground” (rolling on the ground) method. Other than these methods, there is another very effective way, that is, doing prostration.
Prostration is one of the main teachings in Bodhi Meditation. When we prostrate, our face and body is flat on the ground, stretched out and relaxed; the stretching is from our fingertips to our arms and the entire spine down to the toes.
When we prostrate, not only are our bodies relaxed, our meridians (acupuncture points) are cleared and this allows vital energy to flow through the body effectively. Prostration is also very effective at eliminating protruding belly fat arising from a sedentary lifestyle. Hence, it is very suitable for people who work in offices.

De-lai : Doing prostration is way more effective than physical rehabilitation …
During a computer tomography, it was revealed that there was deformation in my third and fourth spinal vertebrae. The doctor recommended that I should not work and should go for rehabilitation. Otherwise, the consequences could be dire if the two vertebrae braced against each other. After a period of rehabilitation, the effect was still not obvious with very slow improvement.
On day two of the prostration class, while the music of Guanyin Bodhisattva was being played, I sincerely and respectfully did my prostration. After an hour of prostration, my body felt so comfortable and relaxed even though I perspired a lot. While I was standing up to do the closing exercise, I realized my spine could easily bend and was no longer as stiff and tight as before. I felt some numbness from the arm to the fingertips. I couldn’t conceal my excitement when I went back to tell my wife the good news:” Practicing prostration is indeed better than rehabilitation. The effect is amazing!”. From that day onwards, I practiced prostration as and when time permits. My spinal problems are now resolved, and my spine is no longer as stiff and tense as before.

德來:做大禮拜比做復健效果好太多了!

我的頸椎經電腦斷層確定第三椎跟第四椎已變形,醫生建議我不能再工作,要求做復健,否則當二節碰到一起,後果很嚴重。在經過復健一段時間後,效果並不明顯,改善很慢。
在念佛班第二天唱誦觀世音菩薩聖號時,我一個人靜靜地來到旁邊,真誠恭敬地做大禮拜。做完一小時後,渾身流汗,好舒服,站起來準備收工時,發現我的頸椎可以輕鬆的轉動了,好輕,沒有了以前的緊繃、僵直感,而且從手臂一直到指尖都是麻麻的。當下好興奮,回去後迫不及待跟太太講這個好消息,「做大禮拜比做複健效果好太多了,大禮拜太神奇了!」從那天起我只要一有空就做大禮拜,我的頸椎也沒有再出現以前的緊繃、僵直感。

Do you feel fatigued?
─ ─ the best ways to alleviate illnesses due to our way of life.
White-collar workers who sit in offices are used to maintaining the same posture for long periods of time. Their muscles and nervous system are constantly in a tight state. In particular, the arms tend to feel especially stiff or tense due to long hours of typing on the keyboard and holding a computer mouse. The hip area, together with the thighs and bum area, can also show signs of fatigue easily due to sitting in the same position for too long. During the hot summer, office workers may be sitting for long hours in air-conditioned rooms; joints are prone to arthritis pain as they are exposed to the cold air.
There are many solutions in such situations, such as moving the body or adjusting your sitting position from time to time. I have also mentioned previously about the “wallowing on the ground” (rolling on the ground) method. Other than these methods, there is another very effective way, that is, doing prostration.
Prostration is one of the main teachings in Bodhi Meditation. When we prostrate, our face and body is flat on the ground, stretched out and relaxed; the stretching is from our fingertips to our arms and the entire spine down to the toes.
When we prostrate, not only are our bodies relaxed, our meridians (acupuncture points) are cleared and this allows vital energy to flow through the body effectively. Prostration is also very effective at eliminating protruding belly fat arising from a sedentary lifestyle. Hence, it is very suitable for people who work in offices.

De-lai : Doing prostration is way more effective than physical rehabilitation …
During a computer tomography, it was revealed that there was deformation in my third and fourth spinal vertebrae. The doctor recommended that I should not work and should go for rehabilitation. Otherwise, the consequences could be dire if the two vertebrae braced against each other. After a period of rehabilitation, the effect was still not obvious with very slow improvement.
On day two of the prostration class, while the music of Guanyin Bodhisattva was being played, I sincerely and respectfully did my prostration. After an hour of prostration, my body felt so comfortable and relaxed even though I perspired a lot. While I was standing up to do the closing exercise, I realized my spine could easily bend and was no longer as stiff and tight as before. I felt some numbness from the arm to the fingertips. I couldn’t conceal my excitement when I went back to tell my wife the good news:” Practicing prostration is indeed better than rehabilitation. The effect is amazing!”. From that day onwards, I practiced prostration as and when time permits. My spinal problems are now resolved, and my spine is no longer as stiff and tense as before.
